Losing Hedman and Chernak isn't small if they are indeed out for a minute.
Just ...
DO NOT PUT KERFOOT ON FIRST LINE

Not sure how I feel about Sammy. Bad games happen and it isn't like they won't need him to be good eventually.

Holl needs to sit.

Rielly Schenn
Brodie Mccabe (not bad last night)
Gio Lilly

Who do you like on the first line?

How many times do they start unprepared and undisciplined

. They haven’t started almost any playoff game under Keefe on time, including the ones they actually win. The approach has consistently been easing into games or making furious rallies once they’re trailing.

Leafs didn't started late or Whatever
..

The reality is every high danger shot tampa had in 1st period came from samsonov unable to control basic shot and 1 from pp...

2nd period pratically ALL scoring chance came from pp

Can we just assume “it’s only one game”. Like we all get it, this isn’t our first sporting event. We are left to comment on what we saw, and the alarming lack of composure, it happened, it’s real, it deserves digestion. I expect the Leafs to come out like dogs on a bone next game, our season is on the line.

I still can't get over Holl on the 1st goal of the game though lol Perry slowly gliding around the net, right into Holl's direction...just f***ing hit him and that goal doesn't happen. Instead he just aimlessly waves his stick at Perry as he lets him move to the front. I have actually defended Holl from time to time around here but that straight up can't happen.
Speaking of Corey Perry, who would’ve thought the Leafs passing on him when he (supposedly) wanted to sign here would have come back to haunt us in such a way. From knocking Tavares out in 2021 onwards, he’s just absolutely put us through hell.

This team is really just beating themselves come playoff time. I didn’t even want home ice here, these guys are too fragile and don’t embrace being the favourites.

Yeah I don't think anyone saw it coming at the time. If do overs were allowed I would sure as hell have taken him on our team the last 4 years lol

I dont know. I dont think its all the refs or Leafs unprepared etc. I think Tampa is a better playoff style team. So many excuses. Keefe dismissed evaluating 5v5 play. But they did very little if the game had 0 penalties. Upcoming games will go the same (less penalties for sure for the league sake) Dont think this is ending well unless Tampa loses focus.

If Knies draws in for Bunting I am going

Jarnkrok Matthews Marner
Knies ROR Nylander
Acarri Tavares Kerfoot
Lafferty Kamph ZAR

Yea, those games when Jarnkrok was getting first line minutes and developing chemistry may pay dividends along with Knies.

Having depth this year certainly gives us options on both forward and D.

I'm not going to go looking for it but I also saw a replay where it was clearly a goal, no questions at all.

Can you describe the angle of the camera? Was it overhead from behind or forward? If it were from in front of the post in any way it will automatically look in because being on edge, there may be white showing between the line and puck as well.

If you virtually draw a 3d representation of the line carried top to bottom, an edge would not be over it. That's what I am saying, if the line to the NHL means just the 2D line on the ice, sure. I suppose that would be clearly a goal.

The technology exists to take away the debate on this. They should implement it.

I would like to see it. I assure you it's angular. If you can post it, that would be great.

This game is on Sheldon Keefe. And no you can't change my mind. It was absolutely bad coaching, line up decisions. Can't adjust, can't coach on the fly and can't run his bench efficiently even with last change. Cooper schooled Keefe right from the get go when Keefe was trying to play catch up and cooper already caught him off guard. Meanwhile Holl was an absolute PYLON when Tampa scored their first goal (Holl was a pylon the entire game btw).

Bottom Line: Keefe was TERRIBLE!!!! I can write an essay on how bad Keefe is. Since picture is worth a thousand words I'd do that instead of writing a novel

The first goal ZAR is on the ice 1 minute into the first period and turns the puck over and boom it’s in the back of the net, why the f*** is the fourth line on 1 minute into the first period?

The penalty on kampf and schenn were soft calls and screwed up our momentum.

Terrible coaching and refs Jesus what a terrible product the NHL has become

I know it’s only 1 game. But if the Leafs do end up losing this series, you gotta go to Matthews and ask him if he’s willing to talk about an extension, if not then you gotta move him before July 1 (before his NTC kicks in) you can’t go into another year with the same question marks and also possibly losing Matthews for nothing the following summer. That would be disaster of epic proportions

I imagine after that first period Keefe put the lockerrom on blast. He looked livid. But I don't know if I'd go that route ahead of the next game. This looks like a mentally fragile group and they need to get in a different headspace if they have any hope in this series.

Time for a hard reset, get back to their game, stop thinking and just play hockey.

I hope they crush them on the scoreboard and leave them limping off the ice personally.

I just hope we get a fair shake from the refs is all.

The Good:

-- Whether they lost 2-1 in OT or 7-3 like they did, it still only counts as 1 in the series column.

The Bad:

-- Getting skunked in the first game of the playoffs on home ice is not the way to start the playoffs.

-- My sister excitedly spending $275 for a ticket to watch a playoff game in Toronto. It's why I'm reluctant to dish out for games anymore. Never know what crap you might get. They say playing the lottery is a voluntarily tax towards the government. I'd say paying exorbitant prices to the rich only to watch that garbage that was last night is worse.
