Simmonds Matthews Nylander
Hyman Tavares Marner
Mikheyev Kerfoot Robertson
Vesey Thornton Spezza
What's he saying?
Agreed on this. The team as whole did show an abysmal effort after Andersen caved in, but we didn't get NHL level goaltending tonight.Andersen clearly deserves the lion's share of the blame since the Leafs were dominating until he decided to let every shot past him, but it's not all on him. The Leafs are absolutely good enough to come back against a team like ottawa and just gave up
How can we get our hands on a Tkatchuk? More grit in their earlobes then all of the leafs players.
Hes weak 5 hole, weak glove side high, weak blocker, routinely either plants himself early then refuses to move or hes completely out of position swimming.Besides Freddy not being able to stop a beach-ball on most nights, he is terrible with his stick.
It's such an advantage for a team to have a goalie that can stop the puck behind the net on a shoot- in and then pass it to their d-man. Freddy stays in his net like he is scared to venture out. He's useless in that regard.
Exactly. I really hope Campbell gets a shot to steal the net here. Enough is enough already. You can't consistently win if you must score more than 3 goals every game.
Why can't our top line of Matthews, Marner, Hyman go up against other top lines. They take up about 25 mil cap space. Surely, we can trust them to play against guys making half the money?I don't mind them developing a third line to play against top lines. This will give the top 6 more time an space throughout the game.
Hyman Kerfoot Mikheyev were pretty good tonight.
Credit to AM34. Say what you want about Matthews' offense tonight, he's the only star whose shown a willingness to leave his comfort zone and battle. He's shown more bite in 2 games than some of the other stars (excluding JT) have displayed in 4 years.
That's absolutely no exaggeration.
Well why do we need to work our way into shape and desire to win? other teams don't have this much talent buy show up for games just fine. Why is it always this team that continuously needs excuses? the talent and good young years are wasting away fast. I'm tired of the same excuses and pampering of these guys. Give me a team full of Hymans and I will beat you 99 of the time. I'm already board with this season, last night was boring in my books. I need fire and passion and this team is so far from that. Also I'm not going to completely lose my mind and wine and cry like most in the gdt just yet. It's only game 2. But if they are playing like this in a couple weeks after they're warmed up the I'll be pissed.
There is still tomorrow night. At least Stutzle didnt score right guys?????
That’s exactly what I wanna see.I'd go back to old lines for the top 2
Hyman - Matthews - Nylander
Mikheyev - Tavares - Marner
Simmonds - Kerfoot - Robertson
Thornton - Spezza - Barabanov
I know it early, so I'm trying not to be to negative . But can someone explain to me why Robertson is sitting in the press box? The kid was good enough to insert into the line up in a playoff series but can't crack the regular season line up. I thought he played with heart and grit for a smaller player, and he has a awesome shot. I was looking forward to watching him play, nobody gets better from the press box.
Keefe has to wake up. If Thorton and Vesey are in your top 6 your not a cup contender.
Agreeing with Button for once in my life...”they want to play a game of skill and that’s ok but it’s useless without will”
Couldn’t have put it better myself
.839sv% to start the year off right for Big Fred
He is solid though when they shoot right at him.Hes weak 5 hole, weak glove side high, weak blocker, routinely either plants himself early then refuses to move or hes completely out of position swimming.
At the end of the day, his ENTIRE job is to stop the puck.
And he doesn't.
