After the scrum broke up Bunting basically kept kicking away the Wings player stick between his feet as he was backing up, then did it again.....playing the "I didn't know it was in my feet" game.
Thanks, I didn't see that.

Bunting is actually getting on my nerves lately.

He's trying too hard to be a pest and not hard enough to be a top 6 player, which is what we need most from him.

Be a good hockey player, and it will be easier to be a pest. Try to be smart at both though, otherwise he's a liability in every sense of the word, and he's not doing himself any favors at showcasing himself for his UFA contract........

Sometimes Bunting out-Bunting's himself, and either gets wishy washy penalties, or doesn't get the call when trying to draw the penalty.
Kid needs to get it together. I still would like him resigned and playing on our 3rd line.

Another smelly goal resulting from a brutal play by yet another Dubas deadline pickup.

How Matthews could possibly be looking at this and thinking "This is the city I'm going to win the Stanley Cup in" is beyond me.

He must be wondering why Dubas brought in all these duds instead of someone good. Smart teams, with good executives, brought in star power. Because they know that stars drive the results.

Dubas stuffed the roster with so many cruddy players he can't even play them all.

This team is in a crisis. It's unfolded right in front of us all. The entire edifice is like a house of cards built wrong.

Like putting four cards on edge and then stacking the rest of the deck on top.

It might hold up for a while, but eventually the whole thing is going to collapse.
I think you need to be more specific. The bad pass by Timmins for the first goal, the misplays by Tavares on the second and third, or just Murray's goaltending?

Leafs kept to the outside and they couldn't get their offense going (This is a Recording!!!)

Also, Keefe's inability to adjust is beyond amazing. The dude doesn't know how to get his guys going when playing from behind. He keeps playing Tavares with his prime players (Matthews/Nylander) when Tavares has absolutely SUCKED 5 on 5 this season.

Enough coddling. Put tavares on the 3rd line. In the playoffs this is what I wanna see

Jankrok-Matthews-Nylander
Bunting-ROR-Marner
Kerfoot-Tavares-Acciari
ZAR-Kampf-Lafferty

I don't care how much Tavares makes, that he has a "C" on his jersey or whatever. The dude is abysmal 5 on 5; you cannot waste your superstars' minutes by forcing them to play with Tavares
ROR is slow as JT with less talent not sure if that will make any difference except padding JT's PPG

ROR is bigger and stronger and has proven that he can be successful in the tight checking, clutch-and-grab nature of playoff hockey. This is a strange take given that he's literally won a Smythe and Cup and even last year was PPG and probably the Blues best player in the playoffs. He's also specifically good in the slot/net front which was a big reason for Dubas acquiring him as that's been an area of struggle in the playoffs for the team.

So Keefe pre-game admits Marner has been dealing with some things, then actually says it’s a function of playing so much. He’s been riding his horses like we’re life and death to make the dance, now we have Marner pulled because the injuries are adding up, how in the world is this good coaching? Two weeks tonight we probably start. He played Matthews 23 minutes again last night too. This guy’s in game management is terrible and he’s admitted repeatedly he wants to pace minutes, yet rides his players into the ground.
To be fair, he has a choice of overplaying his few very good players, or giving more ice time to his large group of marginal NHLers.

Oh man, did this really happen? I'm speechless. I've said many times that Dubas has been good overall but it's beginning to look like Keefe is his biggest mistake and it might be enough to undo everything else he's done that's good. How anyone can be this freaking stupid, and how his bosses can just watch it all unfold without stepping in is mind blowing. I'm starting to believe that this team truly is cursed, how else can shit like this keep happening to us?

Yeah I'm trying to think of what I've seen that's more impressive, can't think of anything right off. As a Leaf fan of course I don't care much for Boston but as a hockey fan, I'll be watching Boston in the playoffs with greater interest than I've watched another team since when the Islanders ended Montrea's reign as the champs. Unreal is a good way of putting it!
Because we keep hiring the wrong people I'd imagine.

Lou Lam was the first time we hired someone worthwhile in God knows how long. Then Shanny thought f*** that, I'm gonna go with this car salesman. It's our own fault. I have no sympathy for ourselves. We deserve it.

If it's on Shanny, then why wouldn't you have sympathy for the fans that have been subjected to what you believe was a bad decision by him?

Lately? You must have the patience of a saint.

Who is we because most Leafs fans do not.
Part of the fanbase don't that's correct.

I know I don't deserve it as well as many others.
My poor daughters who have been attending games/watching with me forever have never seen them win a series.
My eldest is just completing her first year of University.
Boggles the mind how this franchise can screw things up since 1967 except for a couple of glimmers of hope.

Because a large portion of the fanbase would run through a brick wall for the management team. They'll argue till their dying breath how wonderful and delightful every move is.

They're the ones I have no sympathy for.

A large portion? I know there are two or three here that no one really takes seriously, where are you engaging with the others?

Wasn't his approval rating about 70% in the last poll on here a few weeks back? It was a large number for sure. Quite shocking actually.

If the fanbase wants this management, then we shouldn't complain when the management delivers what they deliver.

Edit: 71.1%

That's not true at all. Sounds like you get all your Leaf opinions off HFboards and Twitter, and really only focus on the extreme ones.

Vast, vast majority of fans in my opinion watch the Leafs as entertainment and have little to no attachment to management.

But because Leafs management has all the information, they can never be questioned, or wrong.

If one does not agree they are wrong because they don't have all the information.

Apparently, you can never be wrong if you have all the information.

Right?

If this game was what it took for Dubas to talk to the league about how the refs are reffing Bunting, then this game was a blessing in disguise.

Just lock in home ice before April 11 when we face tampa so we can rest everyone for that game. you know they will try some stupid shit.

He needs to stop spending his time diving and then bitching at the refs

Well we all saw last night how much da team misses Mitch and Gio .. those 2 guys anchor our team .. our offense without Mitch was left to a few great efforts by Willy .. and our defense was atrocious without Gio .. Holl and Rielly OMG it is hard to watch some of time .. Rielly just skating around in our end picking up no one and Holl with his lack of skills .. and then throw Timmer in there and that is not an NHL defense .. Brodie can't do it on his own .. no one can .. but Gio Brodie and McCabe with Lily on form is enough .. Holl when he limits his game and gets played appropriately can get by too .. same with Rielly but he needs sheltering in his own end

You can Approve of somethings and Disapprove of other things without 'going through a brick wall for management team'.
