I hate to say this but I hope Murray is LTIR'ed and dealt somehow in the off season. I don't ever want want to see him playing again while wearing a Leafs jersey. The only reason he didn't give up his usual 4+ tonight was because he came out early due to injury. Even then, he was half way there after 7 shots on him.

I don't know how big of a deal home ice is but the Leafs have decided to make it interesting, 1 game in hand with a 4 point lead over Tampa. One of our remaining games being against them which I believe now is pivotal for home ice. If there's any way Tampa ties us in points, they will definitely have the first tie breaker (RWs). The team needs to take these last few games seriously. Both teams have a mixed final schedule of good and bad teams.

I weirdly think starting on the road would be better for us but who knows

I think we'd get a split there to start but I also think they get one here. Hopefully if we win game 3 they don't head to the beach again this year.. They were trash in game 4 last year

No way this group nuts up for a game 7 no matter the location so game 6 in TO would actually be good for them

Squad is putting Dubas's job more and more on the line in round two if they keep it up however.

Difficult to go to your bosses and brag about your elite regular season play as the 5 seed in the east

Wait, Willy and JT were both -4 tonight? Like even the most basic stats say those two are terrible together. Cmon Keefe. Run 3 lines deep with ROR back PLEASE
To be fair, except for Tavares' bobble on the second and a not great pass on the third, they weren't really to blame for them. Poor goaltending (especially on the empty net :sarcasm:) were more at fault.

But yes, when ROR gets back, please drop JT to the third line.

Burn the tape.
How many tapes have they burnt now?

100% agree. Underdogs back to the wall. Some anger having been passed. Leafs would come out strong game 1. It might not make sense but that's this team. Going in fat at home ,they'll disappoint.

When you rest guys on back to back, esp late in the season, players will check out a bit or at the very least play not to get hurt.

Home ice or not, the boys need to win 4 games in a series. And the opposing goalie is Vas.

Just win four games and move on to the next round.

Leafs kept to the outside and they couldn't get their offense going (This is a Recording!!!)

Also, Keefe's inability to adjust is beyond amazing. The dude doesn't know how to get his guys going when playing from behind. He keeps playing Tavares with his prime players (Matthews/Nylander) when Tavares has absolutely SUCKED 5 on 5 this season.

Enough coddling. Put tavares on the 3rd line. In the playoffs this is what I wanna see

Jankrok-Matthews-Nylander
Bunting-ROR-Marner
Kerfoot-Tavares-Acciari
ZAR-Kampf-Lafferty

I don't care how much Tavares makes, that he has a "C" on his jersey or whatever. The dude is abysmal 5 on 5; you cannot waste your superstars' minutes by forcing them to play with Tavares
Willy was just as bad in this game in fact he has disappeared since the trade deadline.

If this game was what it took for Dubas to talk to the league about how the refs are reffing Bunting, then this game was a blessing in disguise.

Just lock in home ice before April 11 when we face tampa so we can rest everyone for that game. you know they will try some stupid shit.

I only watched the third but looked like a lot of perimeter play. Hit a couple of posts but if you're not driving to the inside and making a point to live there you won't really get the bounces.

How was Murray before he got hurt? Brutal or unlucky?
He looked meh. A couple good shots. Not too good really. (not usually a Leafs viewer, however I attended this game)

Not even mad about this game. Just hope we get through the rest of the schedule with no injuries. Hoping Keefe can at least get resting our talent done properly but I'm sure if there's a way to f*** it up he'll shine at it.

Why did we acquire Lafferty again? It's not that I miss Engvall but man, speed and nothing else really doesn't do much for you.
He used to hit & rumble in chicago. Hasnt been much toughness with us. He has to find that inner tyson again, and eat that nose & errrr off.

Bunting showed once again why as much as I like him and do want him back, I won't be upset if he leaves.

Down 3-1 going into the 3rd he's not available because he gets himself a 10 minute misconduct.

Surely at this point he has to know that the refs are looking to call him.

STOP giving them reasons to call a penalty.

And I don't want to hear "Oh they aren't targeting him"

Yes they are, that's what they do, we know that's what they do because Tim Peele got fired for targeting Nashville.

So if we KNOW they target teams what makes you think they don't target players?

It's frustrating when you dominate and convincingly outshoot your opponent and still lose. Murray looked terrible, the first 2 goals were very soft. Even with resting Marner and others the Leafs were able to outplay Detroit, but with poor goaltending they still lose. I hope that they fix the goalie issue before the playyoffs, maybe bring up Woll and put Murray on injured reserve would be a plan.
