Keefe is a master strategist. This is all preparation for playoffs. Every team we play, Keefe looks at the opposing team and asks the question: What are they good at? Then goes to our locker room and tasks the team with beating our opponents in their own game.

Sadly for us, Detroit's identity is sucking ass, so we had no choice but to outsuck them.

Why did we acquire Lafferty again? It's not that I miss Engvall but man, speed and nothing else really doesn't do much for you.
Thank you! I've been wondering that since the trade. Waste of a roster spot and what it took to get him.

I have no idea why the leafs liked him so much. Will easily be the worst player on the Leafs playoff roster and it won't be close.

It's weird because I remember Blackhawks fans being pretty complimentary of him when the trade happened. Seemed like they thought he was a good add that fans would like.

Another smelly goal resulting from a brutal play by yet another Dubas deadline pickup.

How Matthews could possibly be looking at this and thinking "This is the city I'm going to win the Stanley Cup in" is beyond me.

He must be wondering why Dubas brought in all these duds instead of someone good. Smart teams, with good executives, brought in star power. Because they know that stars drive the results.

Dubas stuffed the roster with so many cruddy players he can't even play them all.

This team is in a crisis. It's unfolded right in front of us all. The entire edifice is like a house of cards built wrong.

Like putting four cards on edge and then stacking the rest of the deck on top.

It might hold up for a while, but eventually the whole thing is going to collapse.

It's crazy that anyone is willing to bet money on these games. A ref with hurt feelings can play a huge role in deciding the outcome with a none call.

Not to mention, Murray literally got taken out of the game by something as blatant as you can get, which was replyayed multiple times and not even a hint of a call.
Looked like the guy lost an edge.

So Keefe pre-game admits Marner has been dealing with some things, then actually says it’s a function of playing so much. He’s been riding his horses like we’re life and death to make the dance, now we have Marner pulled because the injuries are adding up, how in the world is this good coaching? Two weeks tonight we probably start. He played Matthews 23 minutes again last night too. This guy’s in game management is terrible and he’s admitted repeatedly he wants to pace minutes, yet rides his players into the ground.

This game really drove home the whole "let's get to the playoffs already". I was checked out. Won't be interesting until we get Knies in.

Willy took the Sandin and Engvall trades kinda hard. It looks like the leafs were dumping their Swedes. I’m not sure willie is all there mentally right now.
Even with that, he's still been one of our best players, especially when he gets a shift away from JT.

I don't think anyone should be surprised that he got a misconduct.

He's a known embellisher, he embellished, he got penalized for embellishing. Then he's not smart enough to stop whining about it.
It seemed pretty obvious the misconduct was for that than the scrum he was in after he got out of the box.

Oh man, did this really happen? I'm speechless. I've said many times that Dubas has been good overall but it's beginning to look like Keefe is his biggest mistake and it might be enough to undo everything else he's done that's good. How anyone can be this freaking stupid, and how his bosses can just watch it all unfold without stepping in is mind blowing. I'm starting to believe that this team truly is cursed, how else can shit like this keep happening to us?

I hate to say it, but Boston’s unrelenting season is the most impressive thing I’ve seen. It’s unreal.
Yeah I'm trying to think of what I've seen that's more impressive, can't think of anything right off. As a Leaf fan of course I don't care much for Boston but as a hockey fan, I'll be watching Boston in the playoffs with greater interest than I've watched another team since when the Islanders ended Montrea's reign as the champs. Unreal is a good way of putting it!

Nylander and Tavares should never see the ice together other than the PP
I think everyone except Keefe has figured that out by now.

Or maybe he has, but just isn't willing (or possibly allowed) to either switch Willy and Mitch or drop JT to 3C.

After the scrum broke up Bunting basically kept kicking away the Wings player stick between his feet as he was backing up, then did it again.....playing the "I didn't know it was in my feet" game.
