Boston plays with that extra bit of heart and hustle and grit the leafs are missing. Its always been that way in all the playoff matchups.

I think their crowd has a lot to do with it. Their atmosphere is amazing.

Imagine seeing the success Boston has in the last number of years in Toronto?

I've found the Raptors have much better crowd than the Leafs.

plus it just makes intuitive sense for the challenge to ramp up each round and to have best on best closer to the finals.

The difference is also elite defensemen and quality depth up front.

the diff is that they don't have 3 players making 10 AAV + on the team.

Actually there is no team in the NHL with 3 players, especially 3 forwards, with 10 AAV + on their roster.

Let's face it, the Bruins were the better team for most of the game. We kept it interesting, but I'm just not sure we're at their level this season. We need to find another gear.

Would've been nice to get the point, but I mean, it's the Leafs, so of course they were going to blow it with unforced sloppy turnovers in the last minutes.

I disagree. I thought we played better than they did in the second and third. What did us in was brutal turnovers, poor game by Nylander and Tavares, and very uneven goaltending. Add to that poor coaching decision to play Rielly and Timmins together, and there’s the game.

We can play with these guys. Need Brodie, a rested Gio, and an upgrade on D and a 2LW. Rielly can’t be the fifth best defenceman the rest of year, can he?

This Boston team is the luckiest team in the history of all sports. They honestly suck and are pretty much the biggest joke in sports. If they win the cup I’ll eat my own balls.
Very lucky win as usual for a garbage team of over the hill veterans, pending ufa and other assorted castoffs.

I have come to believe one of two things will happen

either Leafs win the cup or Dubas gets fired.

Both outcomes are good with me.

Worse case scenario, leaf’s lose in rd 2 and dubas gets extended…PAIN!

It's not just a problem with Rielly, he's being deployed as a legit #1 dman who can dominate both ends of the ice and he's not a player who can handle that. Leafs were outshot 15-4 at 5v5 with him and he still got played the most of any skater. That's just as much on Keefe

20 minutes + TOI every night from a guy who is complete shite on his own side of center, it's no fluke they looked so much better defensively without him in the lineup. I like him but I hope they smell the beans and trade him. Being his defense partner must be one of the worst assignments in the league and it's not meant for rookies.

he has "zero" goals entire season btw.... he has played 29 games till now. thats something huh? i think after he signed the contract he just partied and did not put in the work in the summer

Bruins created a lot of odd man rushes due to their willingness to block shots and creating turnovers all over the ice by always having a stick on the passing lanes. Timmins’s mistake was horrible but it was also the pressure he was under(think it was Marchand) that caused him to make a panic play. Same with last goal.

Bruins played the whole game like they were killing the penalty and that’s the mentality our Leafs need in the playoffs.

come on man. "The boys" have been in the league for a long time and haven't gone past the 1st round. If they don't know the distinction b/w pretender and contender by now then I don't even....
