It definitely isn’t Timmins and iimho lily’s the best option. Don’t get me wrong I think Reilly is our best D but I also think lily would let Reilly play to his strengths more than the others on our team

IMO Lily is the best d-man on the team at the moment. No reason to ruin his confidence.

Lily should be given the reign to play freely as he was drafted as an offensive d-man; Rielly should grow the F up. He is not a kid anymore

I know Reilly is still not in shape and coming back from Injury but he needs to be better much better.
Timmins can’t play with anyone but Gio and TJ.
And same applies to Holl.
Not sure how Timmins and Sandin will be like but worth a try.
If Reilly not in shape why does he play 25 min and cost us.

It's might be premature but Liljergen is up there as our best defenseman imo. He played 20:30 and had an xGF% of 59.92%

You could see Keefe trusted him and Sandin a lot tonight. There were multiple times where coming out of a TV timeout he had them out against Boston's top line.

Just need to give him more opportunities to show how good he is. Tonight was a good start to that

if I win a few lotteries and find a few investors, and can buy the leafs, I will give you a call bro!

very first thing I'd do is stop the music at the practice. Be f***ing professional and get serious ! This is not some peewee hockey tournament. Grow up and be professionals!!!

Dubas' firing papers would reach him before I even set foot at the arena

Eh if we won this game, the people saying this team is going nowhere would be cheering for the cup

No need to overreact

Reality is this was game 44 of the regular season, win or lose. “Barometer” games aren’t made for a team who is as veteran as ours. Those are for Detroit or Buffalo to see if they matchup to playoff standards. We already know what we are and what we can do

We are going to play tampa, let’s just get ready for that

Definitely agree.

I’ve like his game the last dozen games or so. He’s gotten solid defensively and has started jumping into the offence. While I don’t like the way he plays 2 on 1’s at times, that’s a minor issue. With Rielly’s current play we should realistically start playing all pairings around 20ish minutes. Theres no need to shelter anyone

And implement a proper dress code. Enough of the ridiculous outfits they were to the rink pre game……..oh ya I would outlaw Bieber from the arena.

This seems like the logical take. Season series is 1-1 w Boston, both teams won at home, both 1 goal games with the visitor on a tough schsdule. Tonight doesnt show anymore "killer instinct" than the first game or when we beat them last year

Good effort. Intercourse The Bruins. It seems Engvall is developing a shot this season. Granted he's still softer than Charmin but at least he scores the puck a little now. Lily and Sandin need more work. We will need Gio down the road, start resting the guy. That Matthews goal was just flat out assassin.

Two days off, mostly staying home awhile now. Keep fighting boys. Dubas this team needs abrasion. It's your job to find it. GO LEAFS GO!!!

One underrated aspect of his game is his ability to get his shot through to the net. A lot of the times our defenseman have shots blocked or straight up miss. Lilly doesn't have that happen as often from what I've seen

Come playoff time I'd try to shelter Rielly tbh

Brodie - Holl
Sandin - Liljergen
Giordano - Rielly

You give Mo the ideal zone starts against weaker competiton. Brodie-Holl have been elite together (surprisingly) and so have Sandin-Liljergen. I'm fine throwing them out against top competition

The main issue here is can Rielly go RD

That stick throw no call is going to bother me for a while. I wanted to throw my beer at the TV when the panel all said its nothing.

Its also disgusting how much CBC and Rogers try to overcompensate to not appear Leaf bias. Not just tonight but all year they go anti leaf. Bring back Don Cherry and Joe Bowen.
The usual hokey hockey intro and all the politically correct mumbo jumbo not only by the panel but even in the commercials turned me right off the game before the first intermission was 5 minutes old. Guess I'll have to find some USA feeds if I want to stomach a whole game.

JT with such a bad turnover it's inexplicable. What a stupid play late in the game

Murray was not very good, especially considering we heavily limited Boston shots from the 2nd period and on

Rielly - Timmins is the worst defensive pair I've ever seen

Bright side is Sandin - Liljergen looked awesome, they're ready for prime time

not sure if there's any trade that will put us above the bruins and lightning. they're arguably the best teams in the league.

We know we are playing them. If we lose first round it’s curtains and Dubas knows it. His best bet is a big trade.

Samsonov or bust

The Bruins won but it wasn’t easy.

The Leafs have lost against: Montreal (27th), San Jose (28th, got a point), Arizona twice (29th), Anaheim (31st, point), the Islanders (16th), the Blues (19th, got a point in the loss) and the Red Wings (23rd).

Boston have lost to Ottawa twice (25th, got a point in one), Florida (22nd…1st last year), Arizona and Buffalo (20th, got point).

I see six games the Leafs should have at least gotten a point in to just two, maybe three for the Bruins, who also beat Arizona once.

Not enough to catch Boston but it’s a little bit of oxygen that’s starting to disappear.
