Post-Game Talk: Leafs lose 4-3

I still can’t get over the fact the Rielly and Tavares let Bergeron park himself infront of Murray uncontested and Timmins blind pass across the blue line. Just atrocious.

I disagree. I thought we played better than they did in the second and third. What did us in was brutal turnovers, poor game by Nylander and Tavares, and very uneven goaltending. Add to that poor coaching decision to play Rielly and Timmins together, and there’s the game.

We can play with these guys. Need Brodie, a rested Gio, and an upgrade on D and a 2LW. Rielly can’t be the fifth best defenceman the rest of year, can he?

Man that’s a long list of things that did us in for a team you say out played them for most of the game

This game was a playoff game where mistakes turn to goal against. These mistakes were forced by pressure from the Bruins something that Leafs need to learn and start doing.
The boys are close though, they have enough talents and skills, just need to have that mentality.

5) Leafs have the series lead again against tampa and can't get it done; instead "respect in handshake" is sufficient apparently
6) Killer Instinct is not mentioned in the post series, instead the press conference is held where dubas claims "We are Close"; clsoe to what exactly nobody f***ing knows

P.S. Dubas' politics regarding babcock; goalie situation, completely effing up the team culture, etc... would require another story board and am too tired to rant the same thing again LOL

Timmins probably had his worst game as a Leaf, referees were ass as usual but Boston was the better team overall. Brutal non-call on Ullmark throwing his stick, could've been 2-0 at that point instead it's 1-1. But looking at the game overall they were the far better team, Murray kept us in it early. I thought Matthews had a really good game, everyone else was decent ish, not great. Still need a legitimate shut down top 4 defender, I like Rielly but he doesn't make the opposing teams top scorers life all that difficult. Smooth skating and passing is nice, but you need to be effective in your own zone and physical.

That's a pretty long laundry list of bad things considering that you just said that they all played the Bruins for the most part.

First game against the Bruins was a defensive showcase. I was ecstatic seeing how responsible the Leafs defensive game was in that game.

However, the past month Leafs have stride away from that style of play and are back to how they usually are. Especially this game with 3 brutal egregius turnovers that made everything seem nothing has changed. It felt like a playoff game because that's how the Leafs play in the playoffs. High entertaining danger chances going back and forth with the inevitable terrible outcome. Rinse and repeat.

I really hope they change back to that responsible play they did have. It's possible cause we ve see it. It's there. Funny enough, we were responsible when we had a lot of dmen hurt.

Ideally cup win or at least SCF appearance anything less than that and I dont wanna see dubas anywhere close to the Leafs. period !

if only 1 round win is deemed to be a f***ing "successs" by MLSE and Shanahan; I am gonna f***ing riot. Enough is enough already !

I know Reilly is still not in shape and coming back from Injury but he needs to be better much better.
Timmins can’t play with anyone but Gio and TJ.
And same applies to Holl.
Not sure how Timmins and Sandin will be like but worth a try.

I wish somehow I get like a few billion dollars and I can buy MLSE. I would run the Leafs like a proper corporation with results, milestones and goals outlined that one has to reach.

It definitely isn’t Timmins and iimho lily’s the best option. Don’t get me wrong I think Reilly is our best D but I also think lily would let Reilly play to his strengths more than the others on our team
