Murray made crazy saves to start the game when boston completely dominated the 1st period.

Ullmark also gave up a soft goal (Engvall goal was a softie)

In the end, winners win and losers whine about doing their best. period !

Murray gave up 2 soft goals. We lost game 7 2-1
You just can't let those goals go in.

He's supposed to make saves even crazier ones. That's his job

I just feel a playoff match up shouldn’t be known at this point in the season. Nothing to do with the opponent or having to go through these teams to win but we as fans already knowing the match up in January is stupid. If it was one through 8 and highest seed plays the lowest seed it would go up to the last week or two of the season to decide the opponent and that I my opinion is much more exciting as a fan

plus it just makes intuitive sense for the challenge to ramp up each round and to have best on best closer to the finals.

like why have the two best teams play int he first round, that's pretty ass backwards.

Rielly should be kept under strict watch with only protein and veggies and healthy carbs until season is done. Dude is really out of shape, gets fatigued easily and with a fatigued mind makes dumb plays

Difference between us and them is goaltending and that extra heart, hustle, and effort.

The difference is also elite defensemen and quality depth up front.

My take....... Bruins are beatable. Didn't play well, weak goals against and still in the game.

Side point - Imagine this game without Simmonds. Leafs are run out of the building within 10 minutes.

I don't feel we played anywhere near our best. Great effort no doubt, but not great execution or decision making. B's are most certainly beatable!!

Goaltending was equal., but we gave them a LOT of easy possession and zone entry, and had way too many unforced turnovers all over the ice.

To your point about Simmonds, I also liked Hunt and ZAR. Hunt is a noisy player... as in he makes a lot of noise when he is one the ice. I felt Lily and Sandy were our most physical defencemen, right or wrong.

Feels like 1st place in the div slipped away tonight.

You're trying to compare the Leafs so-called accomplishments to the Bruins, to be clear?

That's really, really sad.

Boston has the depth we want.

Direct result of cap and asset management differences between the Leafs and the Bruins.

Leafs pay $11M+ to three players, the Bruins don't do anything close to that, and as a result they have the money to spread through the lineup.

Leafs pay 1st rounders every year for rentals that lose in the first round, the Bruins do not, rather they use them to acquire players that want to sign longer term with them... Lindholm , Foligno , etc.

Timmins has looked good this year until guess what playing with Reilly. Reilly and Holl tonight were dogshit. Until they find a Ron Hainsey for Reilly who strictly only plays D and covers for Reilly rover style anyone who plays with Reilly will look bad.

Fun game. Both teams are pretty even. Another playoff series is 100% going to game 7 again. Also I love Dryden hunt. I think he 100% needs to be in a playoff lineup.

I think it's imperative to have physical players against the bruins. I didn't think we looked intimidated at all tonight.

Boston plays with that extra bit of heart and hustle and grit the leafs are missing. Its always been that way in all the playoff matchups.

I think their crowd has a lot to do with it. Their atmosphere is amazing.

Anyways. We hung in there toe to toe. Had we recieved better goaltending, we could have easily one

Two (three) weak goals after needlessly giving the puck away.

They tried, but in games like that, what they do just doesn’t get it done.
