I really don't get the people saying the Bruins vastly outplayed us and that we're not on their level

We won the first game 2-1 and this one was 4-3 with a GWG occurring with a minute left lmao. Boston poured shots on in the first, but after that I felt we had the better chances and limited them pretty well.

The issue imo is it was a 50/50 game between two great teams and we lost. Stop me when you've heard this happen to the Leafs

Disappointing for sure, but we can play a lot better. Honestly I think this type of loss is more instructional and will help us down the line more than a OT loser point. Timmins will be better next time and Reilly will regain form soon enough

An entertaining, high intensity game.
We do have a tendency to shoot ourselves in the foot.
1-1 in games, 6-6 goals per, there isn't much separating these two teams.
The officiating in Boston is not good.
A third line C who can offer some offense and physicality would go a long way for our team.

So now we already know the Leafs will play Tampa in round 1 with about 40 games remaining. This is a perfect example of why they should go back to the playoff match ups 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5. It’s ridiculous that two teams already know their opponents in January
The playoff format doesn’t bother me. If you are going to win you have to go through this teams anyway.

Why?

Given the talent we supposedly have, it's Tampa that should be complaining about playing the Leafs
We have 3 of the 5 highest players in the league

It's us that should be the Alpha team. The standings have nothing to do with it
We lost to Montreal and Columbus. Standings mean nothing to this team

We need some good depth. Simmonds cannot be in this team. Like ever. He brings nothing. That fight against Foligno could have been fought by anybody
Hunt. Nothing there

Steeves and McMann. and get a scoring winger

Nah they lose another close 7 game series with Tampa and they have to run it back with the same team and management.

I would f***ing riot if they bring back dubas/keefe/shanahan especially if they shit in the 1st round again.

wouldn't be surprised if leafs find themselves up 3-0 in the series only to lose in 7. that is the only other embarrassing thing that hasnt happened yet

So the stuff that doesn’t show up on stat sheets. Stuff that you either have it or don’t.

We made a few mistakes (Timmins especially, his worst game as a Leaf, and Murray a bit too), but the Bruins are by far the best team in the league. It was a fast paced, hard fought game by both teams. Didn’t like the result, but I thought the Leafs played well, it was fun to watch other than the ending, and it could have gone either way.

I think a 25 year old Knies will be a difference maker. Not sure what we'll get with a 20 year old Knies.

If he can put up Engvall numbers while being a menace on the forecheck and throwing the body, that's a massive addition for us.

reilly was the worst player on both teams.

jt had an awful game.

nylander didn't have the execution we hope to see from him.

marner and matthews were ok but generally pretty quiet for their standards.

officiating was ass but that's just assumed.

time to watch mcdavid tear it up.

may I ask how the Bruins got to be "by far the best team in the league"?

especially after all these years?

coaching? GM? Luck?

All their goals came from our mistakes. Plus one bullshit add non call with Bergeron.

Toronto teams are cursed against Boston. Can never beat them.
This is their first win against us in the keefe era.. lol
