Hope you are right. And I wish I had your patience and calmness. I just see a lot of things that make me not feel overly confident. Guess we'll see how things look come Friday.
Believe me, I am far from a role model of patience and calmness

I've seen the level this team can play at and I'm certain they can get back there.

Dubas need to really shake up the team. You probably can't trade a core player like Nylander, Tavares, Matthews or Marner but you can trade Andersen and that would shock this team pretty good.

The bottom line is Andersen is not a playoff goalie never has and you can't bring him back next year so cut bait now and shock the team. Andersen is popular in the dressing room so this will sting and guys will finally understand.

Bring in a guy to compete with Campbell for the rest of the season even if he is signed for next year. You protect Campbell and leave the other guy exposed and if Seattle takes the other guy so be it you weren't having Anderson back anyway and losing a goalie

I would package Dermott, Andersen, and parts. Go get Rinne and Ekholm

Take a lot more then Andersen and Dermott to get those guys. Without selling the farm we should stick to Granland and try and pry Rinne out of Nashville.
Ekholm is going to fetch a price that would make most of us uncomfortable . 1st, Robertson..etc.

lol... they credited Tavares with that last goal? I had no idea until I saw it was given to him on NHL.com. He, Hyman and Nylander were all right there. I wish Zach had completed the hattrick instead.

It's a Nylander goal. Tavares swatted at it, bounced and then Nylander roofed it via Daccord's shoulder.

Also Marner has fallen off in a pretty big way since the hot start. The laziness has crept back in.
Nylander has been fantastic though since the benching.
There's always stretches of the season where Marner loses his mojo. He'll get it back eventually and Matthews' wrist is actually starting to look better, these 5 days off should do wonders for that.

This game was lost in those 7 seconds when Hutch turned into a sieve. He should NEVER be put into another Leaf game if this management team is to be taken seriously. Put Woll in, put Veini in, put Zamboni guy in...I don’t care but never that pos again.

That zamboni guy was all heart. He deserves at least a period of play.

totally agree brother

Freddie stopped 26 or 28 tonight good for a .929, I still thought he looked a little shaky and his rebounds were going right to Ottawa sticks, the Leafs D also served up some juicy pizzas which turned into disasters but all in all Fred was very good

Hutch is an awful goalie, but says a lot about how bad Andersen played in the Jets series that putting Hutch in felt like a worthwhile gamble.

None of which are better than Hutch.

What worries me is that this team has been gutted from the original year of Babcock's reign, we have been filling in the holes with band-aid solutions and in a shortened year that is tough to do.

And they shouldn't of gutted anything. They should remained the course, but in typical Leafs fashion they make the playoffs when they shouldnt have. Gave the Caps a run for their money, and decided were just one piece away!!

When the signed JT they changed the course of the team to win mode, instead of rebuild. They were close to doing things the right way but after 40 years of cheering for them, it was to be expected. That signing bumped the price of our RFA's up..... And here we are.

true. Rinne and Granlund would be ok.

How confident would you be come playoffs if they finished first by 20+?

Thats true. Everyone needs to get healthy and this will help.
Still believe Dubas does something this week.

I find it's cyclical with Matthews, Marner and Nylander, and probably with all offensive star players. Certainly Kessel JVR Bozak was like that too. The offense gets red hot, bad habits creep in, confidence levels peak and details deteriorate. They keep scoring with bad habits for a while and then it comes crashing down in crisis once you can't outscore your problems. Hard reboot, rinse and repeat.

I’m really glad they have 5 day before next game. They are frustrated. The days off will do them good
