MTL’s two wins really have come from the Leafs blowing it, giving up a short-handed goal late in the third and a 2 on 0 in overtime.
Two more chances not to blow it but they better do it Saturday.

Was listening to Brady and Kipper and Brady said Mitch has 2 goals in his last 17 playoff games. Zero in his last 16. Had 2 vs Bruins in game 1 of 2019 playoffs. Never went 5 g.ames in a row without a goal in the season.

I'm surprised that 1st goal is still credited to Hyman. I don't think he touched it

Despite the goal, it was weird that Marner looked off Matthews on that play

Thornton was trash as usual. Awful 1st period by the entire team, mediocre second, great third. Need more out of our 11M dollar guys. top 5 in points in the regular season, rocket richard winner, we need that level of play. Muzzin now has more goals than Matthews 1, unacceptable. If Matthews/Marner wanna make an appearance, now is the time.

Galchenyuk threw that game away in OT. Blind pass towards the MIDDLE, instead of just keeping it along the boards, terrible giveaway.

We need more Thornton. He absolutely deserves to be on the first power player unit. Yes, I'm being sarcastic. I'm trying to figure out his role and I got nothing. He's become useless.

Right!? I don't get the fascination... WHY TF!!!!!! is he on PP1???? WHY!???? is he even in the lineup... respect to Jumbo, but COME ON MAN!!

Why play Sandin over Dermott in an elimination game. Dermott has more playoff experience, that decision makes absolutely no sense to me. Sandin’s still learning, you don’t teach them in such a crucial situation

Yes ghosts of playoffs past hang large but here are my takeaways

-it takes us a period and a little bit to solve god mode price when we are playing decent
-we have 2 or 3 levels that MTL just can’t match when it comes to our game
-the boys came out soft don’t expect it to happen again
-Matthews though not scoring has been an absolute defensive beast which shows how his game is evolving and we should be extremely excited about that
-the Habs blew their wad on this game and we still forced them to OT where nothing they did got them the W
-Chucky won’t make that mistake again
-for once you could see they were pissed off during their interviews after the game (not the case in playoffs past)
-God mode Proce doesn’t matter it is all on the Leafs

The stars aligned for them tonight, it happens (even the preds forced Carolina to a game 6)

I was pissed last night...today though I’m just excited for Saturday as I truly believe we will see the juggernaut come out to play

Sandin looked fine before tonight. Dermott hasn't been great this year. Seems like the right decision to me.

I respectfully disagree. But i think he sits next game for Dermott, and hopefully the results are better, meaning they WIN
 
In a post after Leafs dropped the 1st of the series I guaranteed the Leafs would win the next 3 games, and the did. I didn't bet on the 4th consecutive win then because I predicted they would win the series in 6 before the playoffs began. I have no doubt they would on Saturday. Take it to the bank.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but one disturbing trend is the Leafs look intimidated by that Perry line. They shy away from contact and cough up the puck constantly. Not a great trait for a playoff team.
 
Would be nice for our stars to show up when it matters in the playoffs for once.

Personally I think the leafs win and Tavares returns before the playoffs are over. He’s progressing well and initially I was extremely worried for his health and career


I just think the leafs are too good and the way they controlled play has to come through. Giveaways aside. Montreal can’t sustain that level of play for 6 more periods let alone 3 IMO


But...if montreal finds another gear, I’d sweat as a leafs fan. Mathews needs to show up, I think he’s the straw that stirs the drink ultimately
