They keep falling for Price slightly exposing the five-hole on breakaways; he always does that and then closes it after the shot. As I said before, he goes down on every shot, so they should be aiming over the shoulder.

If your claim is that Matthews was disengaged during this game, how do you explain him leading both teams in hits?

I think people confuse Matthews not scoring with him being disengaged.

I don't know if disengaged was the right word, but he wasn't playing like he usually does.

He's leading all forwards in ice time, he's leading all players in hits, he's playing great defense. He may be snake-bitten with a 4% shooting percentage, but there is no indication that he's injured, disinterested, or any other silly thing folks want to put on him.

Ok then, it is a matter of perspective on my part. I still believe he has more to give if he is right, but that is just my thought. I hope he shines every game as a fan, hope it is game 6.

He definitely drove his own line when it was Marleau - Kadri - Marner, but I know what you mean, Kadri was no slouch that year.

Yeah like they won’t give him the equivalent of Kapanen and Brown and Johnsson which they gave to Matthews, or Galchenyuk with Nylander for example.

Yea I just feel like we start overrating anyone once they become Leafs territory and underrating when someone is disposed. Naz being a borderline 1C to now Kerfoot being a better player even before the playoffs started even though no one would ever say that before the trade etc. It’s just Leaf fans being Leaf fans as always.

The story with Gally is just was was was. I don’t think you can hold onto draft position this many years in. I think once you go on waivers and not due to physical decline all that goes out the window. Scouts regularly get things wrong or Biggs would be an asset right now

A ton of my buddies are diehard Habs fans and were pissed he got him. Things weren't right in MTL. I watch every team and I honestly cannot believe he was a waiver guy this year. He's not a saviour or anything but he has played well for the Leafs this year IMO. I don't care that he was 5th overall. We could do this about 19199191991949842 players I just think he's done well this year. That play is AWFUL and made me want to puke BUT he's been solid and helps the team, especially with JT and NF out.

IQ: I would lean Galchenyuk but tight. so let's give it an even.

It's weird that on one hand you criticize a group for already looking at round 2, and on another, you're certain it's going to 7 games...the Leafs almost came back to take it in 5 tonight. They are still in prime position to take it in 6 games. I expect a much better game from the Leafs on Saturday.

The Leafs play a good redemption game but are close-out game virgins, so it will be an interesting and uncharted territory to see what they do.

Yes. I think the Leafs were lucky to win the 3 games the did.

By the time the Leafs got their one and only PP in the 3rd period, Keefe had already benched Sandin for his poor play.

Leafs have been completing that pass all series. Galchenyuks only other option was to just flip it into the corner and give up possession which would have felt like a silly decision had he done that. Was more of a hat tip to Caufield play, than a Galchenyuk shame play.

You don't need to try to make a play if you don't have one...just eat it along the boards, or slide it up along the boards to the corner...you simply cannot make that pass...even if Muzzin gets the pass, he's under pressure by Caufield and could still turn it over.

Sandin should not play another game this year unless someone gets hurt, the kid is not ready and cost us 2 games.

Thornton was trash as usual. Awful 1st period by the entire team, mediocre second, great third. Need more out of our 11M dollar guys. top 5 in points in the regular season, rocket richard winner, we need that level of play. Muzzin now has more goals than Matthews 1, unacceptable. If Matthews/Marner wanna make an appearance, now is the time.

Galchenyuk threw that game away in OT. Blind pass towards the MIDDLE, instead of just keeping it along the boards, terrible giveaway.

He very easily could've just held on to it, ate it along the boards or chip it in. Every single one of those were available and were 1000x smarter. That turnover is 100% on him, terrible decision making. He tried to make a play under pressure, where he should've just made sure to not turn it over as the Habs are rushing up the ice.

Just defending a former Habs 3rd overall a bit, he’s had a great series for you guys- pretty much been your most dangerous forward other than Nylander. The leafs have been so good at maintaining possession in the ozone this series, I think it was just about time we jumped one of your passes and took it the other way.
