Nah. They've played much, much better in Montreal than Toronto this series. They'll win game 6.

What sucks most about this game, is that we gave it to Montreal with mistakes. We clearly have the better team. There is no way we lose like this again.

A 4-0 win to lead the series 3-1 got about 12 pages within the hour when the game was done.
An OT loss is at 19 pages in less time.

This is always the case, if a team is firing on all cylinders then there's less to talk about. This final play was some of the worst hockey ever seen.

On a positive note, we still have 2 more cracks at it, and it's hard to imagine them playing as poorly for 40 minutes again as they did tonight. Montreal was at their best tonight and we still almost pulled it off.

I am disappointed too but I think it is always a Toronto sports team thing to lose the first game of the series and lose the 5th game when they are up 3-1. Just look at the raptors against the Warriors.

Well, it's always a team loss... But at the end of the day the players have to execute, coach cannot do that. Tonight was a turnover fest from start to finish. Only reason the game went to ot was because the Habs are a horrible team. The players gifted that win... 3 goals given away with hardly any effort for the opponent.

I am anxious now to see how they come out after facing some controversy.

Keefe has some decisions to make too for the line up, but his in game management today was great imo.

Yeah, his in game adjustment was good...he benched his bad decision to start Sandin, and the Leafs came back to score 3 straight, but couldn't get it done at the end. Hard to win games down 3-0.

even if he made the right play there is no guarantee they win this game. And I don’t think anyone is blaming Galchenyuk in the room. The person probably getting ripped is Sandin, two brutal give always to a team that cannot score goals. That was the true difference. The 2nd give away was a back breaker

I thought a few times Hyman and Marner went down on a rush, Mitch curled back to find the late trailer and Matthews was so far behind the play he had to put it in the corner. Matthews was very off tonight.

Yes! I was telling my wife this, who was totally not interested in it.

There was 1 play that really stood out where Marner delayed, Hyman drive the net and no one filled in the f3 role for the pass across so Marner I think just skated into the boards or something.

He was really lagging. Losing most faceoffs too as others have stated.
Covid impact? He did have it remember.

Justin Holl had a play identical to Sandin where he gave up the puck behind his own net but it was late in the 3rd and the Habs didn't score on the shot so he didn't get benched of course. Then in OT, when Bogosian pinches, Holl fails to move to the middle of the blue line and Galchenyuk gets all the blame when it's supposed to be a dman moving to the middle instead of staying on the far side when he sees his partner pinch.

I'm not blaming Holl for this either. I'm just trying to make the grander point that under Keefe, Leafs dmen have no idea what to do offensively at ES other than random pinches.
