I love the Leafs but quite frankly I don't see how this team is going to go deep.

For example: Look at Avs - Their stars are leading that team. MacKinnon, Rantanen, Makar

meanwhile Matthews and Marner have been mostly quiet throughout the 5 games.

Even if the Leafs with the 6th game then what?

Wins and Loses are part of the game; but the people taking lion's share of the cap have to lead from front. Period!

Can you imagine what the outcome of the game/series will be if Matthews and Marner starting lighting it up?

Basically this. No reason anyone should be worried about losing this series given how all of the games have gone as a whole so far.

Only thing slightly worrying is the disappearing act of Mariner and Matthews in most of the games.

Can't blame Auston. He is basically alone on that line. Htman is fine. Pass inventor not so much.

Goal scorer can’t score. He had 1 goal, he needs to be better
Hyman has plays die on his stick again. He’s probably injured, but he is fighting the puck
Marner also can’t score a goal, he has, he needs to be better
That line is slumping hard rn, they are creating but cannot convert, it’s not a 1 man show or anchor, them as a collective unit aren’t working rn

We can't scratch Galchenyuk, it was a dumb play but we don't have the skill to scratch him. Game 4 he won and his play to tie it was why we were in OT.

Its obvious why many teams gave up on him tho, hes not the brightest bulb when in comes to understanding the defensive aspect.

Here's the problem.

There are objectively tons of positives. We had many, many more chances. Their goals came from three horrific turnovers, which you'd think isn't exactly sustainable, and Jack seemed to have a hole in his glove. Our first line hasn't player great, Marner has been bad, and yet we carried the play.

But it's now become a bit like the Blue Jays were in '15 before Donaldson gave that speech.

Just win the game. Win a series.

A couple very dumb mental errors by individual players led to a couple bad goals against this game. It sucks but these things happen, even during the playoffs.

Leafs now get the privilege to end the series while making 2500 Habs fans sad they overpaid for tickets.

Yea I'm not "upset" about the game because I figured we were gonna lose after 2 goals from 2 Sandin turnovers. The brains just weren't there today.

The positive is we fought back and Price was good for his 3 goals against. He’s not that special.

The negative is the Leafs were in bonus territory to end it in five games and they were dumb and unfocused with no killer instinct.
