Post-Game Talk: Leafs lose 4-3 OT in game 5

Look it up. You are obviously confused
I said this was a game they SHOULD WIN. They had beat Montreal 3 in a row and had all the moment going into the game. Get it?

Leaving Campbell "out to dry" means he had no help keeping the puck out. Get it?

Again, if you're going to use a word maybe look up what it means first. There was no contradiction.

We live and die with our best players.

Gally is not our best player.

Willy for that matter - is not our best - though he is making a BIG case in these playoffs.

If this doesn't wake up our money makers, not sure what will.

If they don't get it done, what do we do with $10.6 in cap space?

Holding out hope... but damn. It's hard

We are going to have to agree to disagree. To me it was a low IQ pinch. Totally unnecessary to pinch in that situation. Especially in overtime. Also he went so deep into the offensive zone. It just wasn’t a good play by him. Hug the wall at the blue line in that situation especially considering Suzuki’s speed.
Suzuki is a C, so not involved in the Bogo play. Hugging the Blueline doesn't make any sense in the situation

It's fine to disagree, but I don't think you understand why D pinch, what the purpose is, or the outcome in this situation. The pinch had the intended result and was the easy play with the coverage he had

It was 4-1.
We lost to a Zamboni driver.
This didn’t even come close
Even as a newish fan, this isn’t top 10 most heartbreaking, it was massively disappointing, but not pure heartbreak

Marner is not mentally mature enough to accept the physical part of playoff hockey. Until he understands what's required for playoff success he will continue to be invisible out there

Marner is not invisible, he was plenty visible. He's just slow with decision making right now and is holding on to the puck too long. Matthews was invisible tonight though.

Some of y'all are being way too dramatic.

A couple very dumb mental errors by individual players led to a couple bad goals against this game. It sucks but these things happen, even during the playoffs.

Leafs now get the privilege to end the series while making 2500 Habs fans sad they overpaid for tickets.

Goes to game 7.. leafs up 4-1 heading into the third...etc.etc Rinse and repeat

Yeah I doubt we score 4 goals in a game 7 against Price.
More likely we get shutout by Price in the series deciding game like we did last year vs. the Jackets (3-0)

For some reason Matthews hasn’t shown up yet. I thought he’d have 4-5 goals already in this series.

Matthews and Marner are ghosts of their regular season selves.

Some superstars step up in a huge way when it matters the most. Marner just falls over.

Matthews is just kind of there. He makes effort on D and works hard, but there’s zero creativity and he’s getting no good looks.

A big lesson for the Leafs that you have to earn the win and can't take anything for granted.

Maybe this will put some fear into the team, and then they can play like they did in the third with all out intensity for sixty minutes.

At least the ice will be better in Montreal.
