I don't know what people see in Sandin. He is weak, and not that fast of a skater I would upgrade him in a heartbeat. Holl is obviously trash but Sandin is no savior that Leaf's fans think he is.

I would hesitate to package him up in a deal for Chychrun.

Continuing trend means they won’t win many games, defence is poor and can’t move the puck, penalty kill is brutal, they can’t play a lick of defence in their own end, can’t generate offence 5on5 or create high danger chances, star players playing like dogshit.

A lot to fix if they want to even think about winning.

The ducks are 1-6-1 and have lost 7 straight. Surely a win will come in Anaheim.
Surely? What have you seen that leads you to that certainty?

It's almost a guarantee they get outworked, and if Kallgren is in, look out.

The only positive from tonight were Kampf and Samsonov... Well and I thought Kral was good all things considered.

People who say the Leafs don't have a goal scoring problem, THIS IS WHY they do. On paper they should be killing it, but in reality they're inconsistent and generally can't score in the clutch as often as other teams do.

Also hope Liljegren can come back and make a big impact because we need him to come up big to help this pretty substandard defense so far except for Gio who has looked good most of the time. Sandin needs to work on his defense and get abit stronger too.
We need a new coach, and a new system it seems..... they can't cycle the pick up the ice to save their lives... rarely get into the slot and good zones....

I'm totally OK with these results right now if this is what it's going to take to see changes.

If I owned or ran this team Dubas and Keefe would be fired now that October has come to a close. Not just because of the record but the team's play. This start, combined with the past failures should be enough to start making changes.

New coach can get the team on track and if not then the new GM can start tweaking the roster and maybe make a big move. (Roster needs tweaked anyway, bottom 6 is atrocious, D is a problem)

Twitter sold, Dubas collapsing. Woke TO hockey media in shambles.

This is a good thing, get the rot out of the organization and avoid overpays on next year's contract negotiations.
Dubas' mistakes started a few years ago when he went away from his core principles and traded Kadri, started bringing in grit instead of skill and focused more on playoff success instead of stats/skill for goalies.

Not to mention the complete lack of a "swing for the fences" type move.

A real shame.

It's crazy that Tavares was the guy i couldn't stand to watch the last couple of years and this year he stands out as the best player.

Not sure if it's because of JT getting a step quicker in the offseason (he now looks average speed instead of the slowest in the league) or the rest of the team just being lazy af around him.
Maybe they should reward his line with more minutes...

Samsonov doesn’t belong here because winning games is secondary to this organization

It’s all about rewarding failure and keeping the pukes happy
Tomorrow Sammy will rest. We dont want him injured and now kjällgren is the man who plays. We are soo worried about samsonov

LA’s goaltender was playing terribly this season, couldn’t stop a beach ball if he wanted to. Cue Toronto to give him a sparkling .929% and 2 GAA.

Fiala hadn’t scored in six games, so says the announcers, I said lo and behold, h3 will score tonight. Scored the very next goal.

Anaheim is terrible, insert Kallgren and they will look like world, beaters.

This team is absolute toast. Had zero excitement heading into the season, glad to see they are diminishing any hope for having even a shred of excitement.

Worried about Toronto not getting past the first round this season? Hell, I don’t think they’ll even make the playoffs, don’t see it happening at all.

what? babcock was notorious for gifting ice time just to all the bad players
We are talking about star management and how to groom star players to play in the NHL. Obviously when you don't play stars as much as they (or fans) want, the "bad" players get more ice time as a result.

But if you're building for the long term you don't care about gifting ice time to a "bad" veteran rental. You are doing what needs to be done to build the character and habits of your core players who will be here for a long time.

You are focusing on the wrong players.

Blew multiple playoff series with horrific line juggling.

Such a great coach that he hasn't been touched in years.

Samsonov deserves better, about the only guy showing up.

I don't care, the game was over, but it is funny how the ref can see with laser precision and 100% confidence the high stick to hit the puck but totally misses the high stick to the face that is maybe 4 inches away from where he is apparently staring.
