They have done nothing since. He coached the Islanders to hugr success with a bunch of AHL players.

He has such respect in the league, he‘d walk in that room and command it instantly. He‘s an upgrade no question, but It’s all about relationships and loyalty here.

My observations of the game:

Tough game, we did some things well, showed hustle late, but there are some disturbing trends with this team.

Four PP's with no shots on goal? We lack a d-man with a laser that isn't afraid to shoot. Rielly is so frustrating. Pass, retrieve pass, pass, retrieve pass, shoot into pads of dman. At least Giordano shoots.

Muzzin with a giveaway in front of the net again leading to a goal. Holl with a giveaway leading to a goal. We've seen this too often these four games where these two do some good things only to do truly stupid brainless low IQ things.

Really dumb penalty by Jarnkrok in the dying minutes when we were dominating.

Not getting enough saves. Kallgren is who he is, barely an average AHL goalie. Really dumb of Keefe to start him this early in the season. No reason to sit Samsonov.

The attempts at passing through skates by Marner and Matthews isn't working thus far in the season. Simplify things.

Malgin has been invisible offensively aside from his goal. Keefe sat him for most of the third. Time for Robertson.

In conclusion, if I could sum up this season in one word...............................Dumb. Dumb coaching, dumb defencemen, dumb approach to games, dumb PP.

That strategy takes a lot of out the team, it’s not really something you can use for an extended period of time. To be fair we played them well for a majority of the series, took a BS call to save them in game 6

You saw TB implement it versus Florida the next round as well and then it kind of opened up against NYR. It requires a lot of focus and elite goaltending holding up

Leafs didn’t want that kind of game 7 lol, it inherently favoured the Bolts due to their superior defensive system + goaltending. In blink first kind of games we’ve struggled

Tampa dictated the pace of that one, just as Columbus did to them in 2019 and did to us in 2020. Difference is we seem to not learn from it

It also annoys me he only shows heart if his bud matthews is touched. He hasn't convinced me he's ready to put his heart on his sleeve for the team itself. This one is more subjective but I dunno....just the vibe I get.

Mete has a real chance here to impress. I hope he grabs it and runs.

We should not be sitting Holl out, and we can't even afford to do so right now anyways so it is a moot point.

They don’t listen to anyone. Babcock tried as well. They don’t care.

They’ll keep doing what they always do. Show up after getting embarrassed and when the heat dies down just a tad, they go back to being a joke.

A group that has gone through what they have shouldn’t need to be reminded every other game to show up. They are what they are and what they aren’t are Stanley Cup contenders. Team sucks and it starts from the very top.

They didn’t do it in two of the games and their coach pointed it out. When they needed to really focus, they got the job done and didn’t give away game 7.

I’m not an over reactor. Most of the posters here are over the top and don’t apply consistency to other teams. But…..

Losing to the 31 and 32 place team in 2 of your last 4 games when tied late in the 3rd is shocking.

They were losing to ottawa too.

To be this unprepared is insane.

I don’t know if they need a bag skate. Or keefe needs to go but this team is not prepared.
