Mete has a real chance here to impress. I hope he grabs it and runs.

As for the team, curious about what the lineups will look like next game.

Really want Tavares and Nylander split up even though they have been producing. I just think we are bale to form 2 2nd lines, and hopefully, the Matthews/Marner line finds their scoring soon.
 
Some roster swaps we should see, Malgin (he's looked very mediocre in the regular season) out for Robertson and could see someone on the 4th line out for Wayne Train, to try to get some emotion into the lineup. Mete in for Muzzin. Team is missing Lillypad a tad, when healthy, we have, or should at the very least, have a good puck mover on each paring, team misses that.

Frustrating game tonight, team played poorly but this is what the regular season looks like in October, just sloppy game from everyone, the first 4 games so far the team hasn't looked crisp or like they can make more then 5 passes in a row without someone fanning on the pass or bobbling the puck.

Also remove the term "on-ice" official, that tells me the officials on the ice with the iPad should have made the call, not a group of people in a room who are faceless.

Yeah, there is a definite contradiction here. Rule 38.10 does give the Situation Room the right to review this, but according to the Hand Pass rule, the call must be in the "opinion of the on-ice official."

I also think you can take issue with the word "deflected." Keller may not have ever gained possession of the puck, but it did not just bounce off him. He kicked it.

Whatever... It is frustrating, but not nearly as frustrating as the Leafs themselves. It is far too early to panic, but it also pretty clear that these four games look like more of the same from this group.

I think it's time for vintage JT to wake up Marner and see if matthews-nylander can make some noise like their hyman-matthews-nylander intro to the NHL.

I've been thinking of reuniting them ever since I saw Nylander was 204 pounds now. Marner and Bunting are playing a weird game right now, they need Tavares to go recalibrate them.

It's hilarious because this is how the last 3 teams we've faced in the playoffs have eliminated us

Allow the leafs to dominate the outside possession and pass it around, defend the net and wait for them to beat themselves. CBJ gave the league the playbook

They never learn

Oh I agree. After 4 straight power plays without a shot on net I’d be starting the #2 PP units and see what they got, anything to light a fire under the 1st unit’s ass. Why is Matthews NEVER set up on his off wing on the PP where he can one time it? Or Nylander on the other side? Did they forget that play is pretty damn good?
