Honorable mention to that penalty on Jarnkrok that started that whole thing.

That Arizona d-man dropped his stick so easily .. such a soft call at that point in the game. But "game management".
That’s a no doubt about it penalty. They weren’t battling for a puck.

I missed most of this, tuned in when Holl didn't clear.

Was the xGF show in period 1 and 3 intense chances or the boring spread sheet padding muffin stuff.

Overall, it was a complete lack of execution offensively that killed us. Our top 6 had like 3 shots combined through 2 periods and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn despite being all over them. Literally the only thing that changed in the last like 5 minutes of the game when we scored all of our goals was that we finally hit the net.

It is just executing fundamentals right now: Hitting the net. Making basic passes. Clearing the puck (and no, that does not just apply to Holl when Gio flubs a clear less than 20 seconds before).

This sums up our year so far. Our top line has not been good enough, and was a much more glaring issue in this game than anything else. This time, the 2nd line wasn't able to pick up the offensive slack.

I wonder if the Swiss Miss gets waived like a Barabanov. He's like a 2.5 line player who can't play top 6 or bottom 6.
We can keep him around now no? Good depth.

I find the Malgin-nation defensive stuff on here tonight hilarious, sorry for noting he was benched and hasn’t had a shot for three games playing with Nylander. Sheesh. Why do people die on a hill for a guy we’ve seen before and dumped? Especially when there is a high touted kid sitting in the wings, appearing ready for a shot? It’s a storyline this year, you can comment and still think the big guns need to do more, that’s self evident.

Well that last PP they scored on was the catalyst to coming back.

But a soft penalty against late in a game isn't something you usually see. Typically d-men at chopping trees out there and that's fine.

We got the 4th pp on a dive by Matthews so kinda evens out

Correct Dr. Fever......he's nothing but hockey cliches and f-bombs. What's this season 4 where they can't succeed against a team that collapses and clogs up the lanes?
Not on the coach at this point. Theyve been in a position to succeed year in and year out with the "right" players and havent succeeded.

This early season has been filled with poor decision making and bad execution, not much a cosch can do there

Can anyone spot the real NHL coach and the AHL coach???

Enough of the amateur hour Keefe coaching.

Get a real one already….

Keefe doesn’t sound like a guy with a lot of runway left. The team is unresponsive emotionally and isn’t showing the progression in process. Doesn’t look motivated or organized. And he’s snapping on them. I don’t know that it’s his fault. But I don’t think he has the answers.
I'm quite certain he doesn't have the answers. I have been for quite some time now.

Possibly but part of the reason we own the time of possession is our love of passing it around the outside.

It often works sometimes does not

It's why packing the middle is a winning strategy against us

I think we have been a lot more of a perimeter team this year so far, but last year, I don't remember it being as bad.

Packing the middle is not a winning strategy, at least not last year, just based on our record.

And one of the best in the game was sitting there, but our loyalty program and cozy relationships wouldn’t dare replace a guy who was literally out coached three years in a row. Glad it’s a training ground while our prime years rot away. He’s a middling coach at best, why are treating him like some guy with a pedigree that has earned the benefit of the doubt. Go get Trotz, there’s an elite coach.

I don't get how they didn't show up and hammer this team , can't even blame the goalie to make me feel a little better about this loss .

To start the year we were very similar if I remember correctly.

A lot of teams aren't going to do it in the regular season unless they're trash

Shanny is guilty of the same thing with Dubas
