I'll explain why I like expected goals even though you may just say "results" or dismiss them.
The season is long and if we are constantly out-chancing the other team, it is a good sign, we are playing well.
Hockey is not a perfect sport and many times teams get heavily outplayed and win, but over the course of a season or series, if we are constantly driving play and out-chancing the other teams, we "should" win more.
I don't think anyone is taking expected goals as a victory, just that it is showing we are doing things right.
