I feel sad.
I feel sad that so many of the fanbase defend this management team to the death.
I feel sad that anyone who doubts what has happened over the last 4 years is implied to be stupid.
I feel sad thar this team has become what it has.
I feel sad that the fanbase is divided.
I feel sad that we've somehow ended up this way after that amazing Washington series.
I feel sad that we have no heart, no fight, no determination, no character and no speed.
I feel sad our management team has destroyed such a golden opportunity.
I feel sad.

Is he though?

Robertson brings a more complete toolbox than Malgin.

I would bring Robertson in next game and line him up on the second line and see if he can make an impact out there.

I’d also shake up the first line that has been a mess through 4 games.

he put kerfoot out there late with papi and mitch and they looked good

kerfoot and nylander have been carrying us so far this season

Anyway, so far it’s the same old same old. The story with this team mirrors seasons past, so it looks like the ending will also be the same. Can’t beat the teams they should, injured goalies, a scrub on D that is a mainstay. Literally a soap opera.

That’s the lesson though. There’s no “deserve” to win. You just win or you don’t. You can show up or not. You can outshoot an opponent or not. You can possess the zone time or not. If you don’t win you don’t win.
Agreed. I’ve never understood the deserve to win statement.

A lot of variables at play in sports, especially hockey. You have 60 (or more) minutes to win a game. If you can’t manage to do it in that time then you don’t deserve anything.

That mentality also leads to complacency. A losing team needs motivation, and goals to overcome opportunities, not reassurances that you were robbed of a win by uncontrollable circumstances.

I was arguing moreso against the people saying they deserved to lose.

Obviously the result is the most important thing. everyone understands that to the case.

Missed the game. What's with the Malgin hate going on? Did he screw up big time to deserve the 8 mins TOI? If not, then why the hate? Shouldn't the hate be directed at the big names who are paid big bucks to put the puck in the net?

Leafs put themselves to be in that spot

As much as I want to blame the Refs, Leafs deserved that loss
Why not both? Leafs played like crap and the refs gave the Leafs yet another screwjob special call. Not the first time it happened when they played against Arizona.

No disagreement. They should have been better. They also deserved to win. These things are not mutually exclusive
Instead of "deserved to win", how about they just.... find a way to win?

When you fail to respect lesser opposition & decide to only show up for 15 minutes of a 60 minute game, you always leave yourself open to the wild randomness of hockey.

They got exactly what they deserved tonight.

Well deserved loss. Holl Rielly and keefe are clowns. No reason to start kallgren when they don’t play again until Thursday.

Kallgren isn't the reason we loss.
If he's your back up, you gotta get him into a game sooner or later. You have to keep him operational
I mean for what you know Samsonov can get hurt or needs to be yanked

Leafs didn't show up. They played down to Arizona's level
Also lets be honest, we don't have the depth we keep thinking we do. If our big guns wont show up, expect more similar results

What’s funny is Marner celebrates his goal like a little brat, pointing up to the crowd and being cocky, only for them to blow it 30 seconds later.
You'd think after the litany of embarrassing personal gaffes he has made over the last several playoff rounds, Mitch would now be humble until his team actually won something.

Like I said, entitled frat boys. Can't touch'em. Coach killers.
