Trouble in the room...no doubt about it. This feels alot like the Ottawa Karlson wife issue

I heard one of the players is an arsonist.

In all seriousness, they seem like a pretty tight group. I mean its possible I guess, but I don't seem to know of any public squabbles or infighting.

Although I love the creative play of players like Marner, sometimes I really wish the Leafs had a coach that was a bit more hard-nosed like Pat Burns used to be. This team would benefit so much from simplifying their game in their own zone and the neutral zone. How many goals against would be saved if they used Burns' old mantra - "If in doubt, off the glass and out."

The cough up by Schenn for the goal tonight is a perfect example. What is a stone hands like him doing handling the puck at the hatch marks under pressure?
He didn't "Cough it up" he chased behind the net and nobody took the forward. It happens. Outside of that blip he's played a simple, solid game, for the limited minutes Keefe is giving him.

This reminds me of those poster that would complain about Freddie Gauthier and his quite 8 minutes of ice-time at the end of a 6-2 loss. If that's your focus than you're missing the f***ing plot, lol.

Hate the loss, still like the team. It’s evident they are trying new things with the trades and all. There are still 20 games to figure it out. Go Leafs Go!

The offense isn't clicking at all
They lost the game while on the powerplay LOL
Murray looked really good
Glad Matthews showed grit and came back
Not sure this is the right line combinations
Nylander was very bad and very lazy in this game
Schenn knows his role
Holl was the worst player on the ice, he really needs to be scratched at this point

On one hand, this team is terrible in Vancouver so I guess this was expected.
However they have lost the benefit of the doubt. This game was an illustration of all the issues of prior playoffs.

Bad PP-
They are doing the all too similar PP callapse like the last 2 years. Gift a historically bad PK 2 goals. Also I'm not blaming Malhotra from the past, or Cadbury now, these players are some of the most skilled in the game, and it's on them now. If they can't make it work then they aren't that good. Simple as that.

Bad Coaching-
Scratching your young d man whose been one of your better players all year. Liljegren should be in the top 6 down the stretch and playoffs. There is no reason he shouldn't be. If we see Schenn beside Rielly in the playoffs, well it means Keefe hasn't learned a single thing from the Lyb mess last year. Of course Lilly could be hurt, but knowing Keefe, he just scratched him.

Siezing the moment-
Ties in with the PP. You have a chance to pretty much bury a team with a PP goal and you fall flat in a big way.

I'm not adding goaltending here. Murray was good but the team completely hung him out to dry in the last 2 periods. Eventually pucks will go in. Almost like team defence isn't better without Liljegren right Jonas?

This is a stupid ass team
This team is really good but they have the biggest case of "what are they doing".
Expect them to have a great game against one of the best teams in New Jersey because thats what they do. I don't get this team..

It's pretty evident that Dubas is not the problem, unlike some posters make it out to be.

The preparation for games like this has been absolute dogshit under Keefe, and the change needs to be done in the coaching department this summer. I have no faith whatsoever that Keefe will be the one to take this team to the promised land.

Murray was good, can't blame him for the collapse of our abysmal PP unit.

Thank f I fell asleep in the 2nd. They have 19 more games to figure it out..

Side note- Has Holl been scratched for just 1 game all year? Of course he's playing in the playoffs, especially with Sandin out.

Sandin trade already looking bad, though value would have been decent if Gustafsson was serviceable (I'm already ready for the experiment to end having watched 4 periods post-deadline).

Rielly continues to look putrid.

How long is Liljegren out for? They miss him. He’s not on LTIR so that’s a good thing

If Keefe is the problem, Dubas is 100% responsible for that problem.

If I know the answer to that, I will be one of those life coach on YouTube, lol.

For real, I think it comes down to focus and habits.

Can’t find that clip now but there is a clip of Kobe talking about being under pressure or stuff like that. He just said preparations come from practices. He said he practices thousand of different scenarios in his head during practices when he takes shot. That’s why when that moment comes in the game, when the pressure its on… he is ready and it is nothing to him bc he had prepared himself through practices. That’s something the boys need to reflect on. How serious are they when they practice? Do they visualize like Kobe during practice?
Agreed.
I think it all comes down to commitment with our core. There is no way a core group should be making the same dumb lazy moves that these guys do on a regular basis

Dubas hired Keefe without even considering anyone else and has stood by him while we all watch the team do the same stupid things year after year no matter how many bottom players the swap…….so ya Dubas is the problem because he refuses to make the necessary changes

TB have also lost a bunch of games lately. Stamkos, Point and Kucherov were benched vs the Sabres. If that happen in Toronto the sky would be falling. People are too up when they win, and too low (let's blow it up) when they lose.
Lol, like that would ever happen here. Keefe knows that Mitch wouldn't be happy with that at all.

I’m quite certain they wouldn’t be if we had a coach who didn’t reward players when they didn’t deserve it. Keefe is scared to bench any of our star players, with the exception of Nylander. Imagine giving up 2 shorthanded goals on the same PP, and no one gets benched afterwards (I didn’t watch the whole game, but haven’t heard or seen any post game comments that would suggest otherwise). Jon Cooper has no problem doing that to any of his star players (this happened last night). Mind you, being a multiple Cup winner, maybe it’s different with him. But it shouldn’t matter. Reward them when they deserve it, bench them when their play is unacceptable.

He chased it after coughing it up at the front of the net.. and it was like an example of what I was talking about.. but you do you.
