Just gonna put this out there.

Playing Schenn last night put a target on our best players. Tavares got nailed twice, and they were taking far more liberties with the big 4 than I have seen all season.

You mean the Tampa players that got benched for not competing?
So you mean they took more liberties with Leafs with Schenn in the lineup? Not sure I see the correlation. Tavares moving at turtle speed through the middle is an easy target. They played like crap, but they should be fine

McCabe needs to cool his jets a little. I don't want him to be the new David Clarkson.

Don't get into a million fights and don't try too hard. Keefe needs to reign him in like yesterday.

I am happy that TOR acquired him, but we need him healthy and head strong for the post season.

Feel bad for Murray to be honest thought he played well for two and a half periods then the leafs let two shortys in. Not or mention holl with his siq deflection on Vans first goal. Hope Orielly is ok.

The fact that Schenn nailed a few guys early meant that the Canucks were going to be looking for payback.

And they did. It's doubtful Myers does that as he isn't known for leaving his feet to nail someone.

Yeah I would say allowing multiple odd man rushes might have something to do with that.

In a tie game, Murray allowed back-to-back short-handed goals to the 32nd & worst penalty kill in the league, 44 seconds apart, and Leafs lost 4-1.

Yes, Canuck's goaltender Thatcher Demko was really good stopping 36 of 37 shots with a .973 sv%.

Only 1 goalie in this game showed up giving his team a chance to win.

4 goals against and .833 sv% & 4.0 GAA is not going to win the Leafs many playoff games, on this I'm sure we can agree. :wg:

I call this a write-off game for Murray who hasn't played in months, and it takes time to get the rust off.

For a first game back after injury, Murray was faced with multiple breakaways and odd man rushes (this doesn't even show the save on the two-on-zero from earlier in the game). Two goals on breakaways, one on a pinball deflection, and one on a tap in because our defence can't clear the zone. Don't care who's in net, you're not beating any good teams giving up those kinds of chances.

That’s what playoffs is all about, hopefully we’re up for it. Schenn knows what’s to come.

Having schenn had nothing to do with that. Both team were hitting hard. The big boys need to find a way to fight through that eitherwise they will never win.

Hopefully ROR, Matthews, Tavares and Liljegren are alright.

Hopefully Keefe figures out playing 11 forwards is stupid and establishes some semblance of proper lines. He's got everybody all scrambled up with these crockpot line changes, when you are supposed to be trying to build familiarity and chemistry with new players. Lots of teams added new players, are any of them pulling this 11/7 bullshit?

Hopefully Murray stays healthy and he and Samsonov push each other, and hopefully Woll is there if needed.

Hopefully they will play up against New Jersey on Tuesday, because they are a legitimate contenders in the East, and we see a good game with a good effort, win, lose or draw. It should be playoff intensity hockey from 2 contenders.

They are better than we've seen. Keefe has got to cut the crap and give these guys consistency and routine to play the way they know they can. This is below Midget level hockey indecisive coaching right now.

Only team that did it well was the oilers. Solely because they had 0 depth and were double shifting either mcdavid or Drai all game

I really don't buy this whole "he's injurred"

What part? Why is he not shooting - is it his hands? If it's his wrists, what's stopping him from skating, because he looks slower than tavares out there and more demotivated.

My guy looks like hes gone through some emotional damage and is in depression
Hot take #378- Matthews is depressed because this is his last go round with the Leafs as he has already told management he wants out. He knows he's getting traded at the draft.

You heard it here first.

Lack of focus and concentration, making bad decisions - especially at key times, lack of will, lack of ‘clutch’ play etc. it’s the same thing with this core. I would love to be proven wrong but this core doesn’t have it. They should by now have dragged the leafs to atleast 1 playoff round victory. Just Don’t see it changing.

To be fair, imagine you're McCabe and you've never been on a playoff team your entire career. Now you're in Toronto and you have your first chance to even try for a Cup. I can understand being overzealous.

I couldn't stomach For All or Nothing or whatever the hell it was called but from all reports it sounds like Keefenis a hot-head who likes to yell. But we've also seen him operate like he doesn't want to piss AM or MM off.
