I think the leafs heading back east with some practice time and ability to bring guys up/send guys down they can toss that 7d formation in the trash will do some good.

Let's look at the positives:
- No injuries
- Vancouver finally won a Stanley cup

Keefe needs to be better. Dubas is going to drown with Keefe clutching his ankle.

Edit: I missed the ROR injury, this team is cursed.
Every team gets injuries bud.

McCabe needs to cool his jets a little. I don't want him to be the new David Clarkson.

Don't get into a million fights and don't try too hard. Keefe needs to reign him in like yesterday.

I am happy that TOR acquired him, but we need him healthy and head strong for the post season.
I agree with you but I thought McCabe had to jump in there after that hit by Myers.

Separately, I may be biased but if a Leaf. Throws that hit they are talking timPlayer Safety today

Just gonna put this out there.

Playing Schenn last night put a target on our best players. Tavares got nailed twice, and they were taking far more liberties with the big 4 than I have seen all season.

You mean the Tampa players that got benched for not competing?
Big four Lol! Good one KB

Looking at some of the posts in here and different threads. Its almost like people are fine with both Matthews and Rielly having a down year... "its just one year happens to everyone";

people already looking forward to next season or what? when 2 of your core pieces are not having their own avereage year (forget about great years) and the team has gone all in its I don't know what to call it.....

and with ROR also injured well....

i dont even know what to say...

I don't think people are necessarily ok with it, they are just reserving judgement until the playoffs, myself included. We have seen them both have tremendous regular seasons in the past but we still haven't won a playoff round.

If they both find another gear against Tampa Bay and finally help us advance, this will all be forgiven.

The issue is that nobody just flips the switch starting in the playoffs. Players usually carry momentum into the playoffs. They gotta go into the playoffs feeling good about themselves and their game. If not they will be holding their stick tightly and will be making the same mistakes may be even more times than they are in regular season.

I've never seen any player just flip on the switch for the playoffs, except may be goalies. But goalies are voodoo and are weird.

It's pretty evident that Dubas is not the problem, unlike some posters make it out to be.

The preparation for games like this has been absolute dogshit under Keefe, and the change needs to be done in the coaching department this summer. I have no faith whatsoever that Keefe will be the one to take this team to the promised land.

Murray was good, can't blame him for the collapse of our abysmal PP unit.

I can confirm. Don't believe me? just look at my username ;)

once again facing a team that collapsed back we had no answer, got impatient and gave up rush chances.

Obviously, getting a 3rd period pp which if we were the Bruins would be an automatic goal but turned into two shorties —- Saturday night mood killer.

You just described the CBJ and Habs series losses to a T and Game 7 loss to Tampa.

Keefe has no CLUE how to coach on the fly in these circumstances. He is also keeping the time out voucher to use at Wendy;s where he get 50% off by trading in the timeout voucher he didn't use on big ass hamburgers it seems

76% of people say we should extend Dubas... Just dropping that juicy nugget.

If Leafs don't go deep in the playoffs and Dubas is extended. I will stop watching the Leafs. I can't support rewarding failures anymore. Enough is Enough.

Life is short, I'd rather spend my time and money on something else....

Schenn throwing a hit has nothing to do with Tavares skating with his head down.

In an ideal world that PP1 unit gets sat the rest of the period just like in Tampa. The combined goofy stuff we saw out of JT’s cross ice pass to the point, Rielly’s random pleasure skates and the dead head stuff from Matthews, Marner and Nylander that cost the team the game.

Everyone else did their job reasonably, the new acquisition were okay. It’s the core.

Ljilgren needs to be in the lineup to me he was one of our better dman

If O'Rielly is injured bring up McMann

Man. If ROR misses many games and the playoffs, it’s basically the Hockey Gods saying “nope” to Kyle Dubas hockey… the Bad Karma/60 is through the roof despite all efforts.

Hopefully is isn't to bad.

I thought they looked good in the first, but were terrible in the second. The 7 D plan doesn’t seem to work.

The good news would be that Murray looked fine.
I'm sorry, but Murray looked like shit on both short handed goals. That killed all hope for at least a loser point.

Leafs should have just traded for John Wick- they are ultimately missing focus, commitment and sheer will.

With "The Accountant" on D.
