I’m sorry to hear that. Were you hospitalized?
'Luckily' no, I never got bad enough for that, and with so many people who were worse off...

After six weeks when I was still having trouble with it I had to go for testing. They found the damage then. I haven't been able to breathe properly since and my energy level still has not recovered (this happened in November).

Team played fine, Campbell let in a couple bad ones.

Its the same as earlier. Team isnt playing bad, but the goaltending sucks.

How long are people going to keep trotting out this lame excuse.

They managed 2 goals against a team that
  • Hasn't played in a couple of weeks
  • Is coming of Covid infections
  • Was missing 3 or 4 regulars including their starter
  • Was on the PK for 1/3 of the 2nd period
  • Without their best PK Dman for a 5 min PK and the 2nd half of the game
But our goaltending sucks......gimme a f'ing break. These guys don't seem to have what it takes.

Man if Hyman goes down, I am going to give up on this team this year

It absolutely sucks that a player like him gets kneed by someone who tried to hurt our players before and nobody does anything

Team doing what it does best...wilting just in time for the playoffs. I don’t know why they always find ways to humiliate themselves in spectacular fashion.

I watched the Caps Bruins game today and the intensity of that game was what true playoff teams look like. Leafs would get wrecked by either and at this rate, Montreal might even upset us in round 1.

At this rate I think they will play McJesus in the first round.

You either do something to change the narrative, or it just gets reinforced.

They are a skilled team that plays such a mentally weak game, scared game when things don't go their way. They bring in these vets for their experience and maturity and..... yet we keep seeing this.

I'm so, SO sick and tired of being embarrassed by this damn team. They're going to break our hearts again so cruely in May

Toronto knows how to play the emotional roller coaster all too well. The highs and lows happen so many times in a season, it leaves me baffled wondering whether this team is good or bad.

I do know that their powerplay has been as bad as it can get over the last 18 games. They have nine minutes of powerplay time, a full five minutes and barely mustered a fluky goal at the tail end of it. Lack of killer instinct, lack of finish.

The effort was there, they had tons of chances. Had Toronto cashed in on some of them, I'm sure I would've shut up for a few days. But... that's how this team is. Flashes of brilliance and then forget how to score goals on the powerplay and our goaltender can't make a big save anymore.

I knew that the first shot on net in overtime would go in against us, that's how bad Campbell has been his last five or six games. He has no confidence whatsoever. After every game he's always ridiculing himself like I've never heard. I think I remember another goaltender doing that years ago, I just forget his name.

In any case, Campbell has had a chance to showcase what he had, he's proven to be a back-up goaltender, that's about it until proven otherwise.

Andersen isn't the answer. I'm a fan of his and always will be, but his game has tailed off the last few seasons. He's not shown me any sort of strong play in the playoffs that says he'll have what it takes to get the Leafs out of the first round.

The only way Toronto gets out of the first round is if they outscore their average to bad goaltending.

I hope they prove me wrong. I don't think I will be.

We have a GM that is listening to the fans and making moves that fans on a forum recommend?

Shitz, we're in real trouble. He can't be making trades to appease internet posters. His days will be numbered.
You really think he’s making moves based on what fans say on these forums ?
Wow , now that really blows my mind mate

Nah the loser attitude is guys like you who think this loss is funny. "Baahahahaha" Kick ****in rocks!

Lol it's not going to change your life man. It's a random, regular season loss. This season's version of losing to a Zamboni Driver. If you can't laugh at that cluster****, what can you laugh at?

Hey I'm just going by their moves last offseason and this TDL. Thornton, Simmonds, Bogosian (who's actually solid), Foligno.
Joe Thornton isn't tough or gritty. He's old. That's what he is. So our demise as a team is a bottom pairing dman whom you said has been solid, a 3rd line/4th line RW and a guy who's never played for us.

That's some f***ed up shit.

Honestly, I don't think goaltending is the problem with this team.

Tonight, the difference was 100% goaltending. We were the better team for most of the night, had much more, and higher quality changes.

Our goaltender let in 2 stinkers. Their goalie saved 4-5 almost guaranteed goals.

That being said, outside of Nylander, no one really looked particularly great tonight.

I think we played a good game. Everyone is mad and I get it but we played fine we hammered the net and had many close chances and actually scored a goal in the final minute that was not called. It is what it is

what worries me is Jack. He looked like he was going to cry for losing. We need to pick him up. He’s very emotional which isn’t a bad thing let’s just use it for drive

On another note, let's not pretend that the narrative going into this game was even remotely true.

Those who expected the Canucks to be a door mat tonight were proven wrong. They're a professional team with some good players and a goalie that stood on his head.

I warned yall before the game it was a stupid media narrative to get involved in that the Canucks were somehow gonna get stomped.

It literally happened earlier in the year with the Stars and they were fine.

The personnel being out hurt the Canucks more than Covid.

Massive game by Holtby as he's the only reason it was even a game......but goalies are part of the team and theirs won it for them.

Anyways, the Leafs were far the better team but I'm more worried about Hyman than the game tbh.

Your perfectly reasoned take is going to be drowned out in the sea hot takes and panic.

The Stars situation as a comparable got brought up earlier and nobody seemed to care.

Their goalie played really well, Leafs had over 40 shots on goal, made the posts and crossbars sing a few times. I don’t think they played that bad

Kinda like Reims.

Games like this show you why this team will never win in the playoffs. Not enough hard hockey, too much fancy crap. Cute passes turn into turnovers and the puck goes in the other way.

Folks we are Leaf fans we all know how this season will turn out. 1st round playoff exit. This team is cursed since Ballard and nothing will change.

Just a pathetic performance.

Agreed 100%.

This is going to be an extremely opinionated take. But IMO, if we don't make it out of the North. And especially if we lose in the 1st round again, Dubas and Shanny really need to consider the re tooling option.

Simmonds and Thornton are a real anchor on this team. Both of them

I thought Jumbo was very good tonight. Simmonds is terrible, hands of stone. In the end though, most of our wins and losses do not come down to those guys. As long as they can play an even game our top players are the ones who are supposed to be making all the difference.

Mitch is too interested in making the cool play instead of the available play, Rielly is a moron and our goaltending has been outplayed in the past 4 games. Thornton and Simmonds are the least of our worries.
