Just when I thought this core was ready to win me over, what a lifeless effort. Really sucks watching superstars of others teams elevate while ours disappear. Who would have thought this era would have played out like this after that first series against Washington.

I expect them to lose Wednesday, that being said going back to Toronto down 3-1 would make it kind of interesting lol

I’m still hopeful they can turn it around and show up like the team we’ve seen all year (hopefully with Woll in net), but it’s just so hard to win 4 in a row.

They don't have much time, and I doubt they are coming back to win this series...first it was Leafs in 5, then Leafs in 6, and now is it Leafs in 7?

everything fell apart when they let marner and mathews fire babcock

Mickey Mouse shirts and purses should have given it away for the entire fanbase, but yeah, the Babcock firing kind of signaled exactly what we were going to get with this franchise with a fraud like Dubas running the ship.

This fanbase deserves so much better.

I wish just once that Matthews, Marner, or Nylander looked like the all-stars that they supposedly are, during the playoffs. How many years now of them just, not showing up at all?
This. Even when they’ve gotten some points, the amount of times you could point to them at the end of a playoff game and say “that guy was clearly the best player on the ice tonight” hasn’t happened nearly enough relative to what you need from your best players at this time of year.

Half expecting them to win the next 3 and pull a no-show in Game 7.

But let's shock the world and win the next 4.

In that 2/3rds are we assuming Tannenbaum is the 1?

Maybe it is time for EVERYONE to move on. This group of losers need to be broken up.

I’m not sure, it’s hard to know but based on the reports Rogers wanted Masai out as well, I’d think Larry wants Dubas to stay.

I agree I think a fresh start and clean slate is best. Now here’s the question, who do they bring in? Who’s available? My vote would be Treliving

It's goaltending.
Bob has been good, but he's looked far from being unbeatable. Many of the Leafs chances weren't exactly super dangerous looking compared to some of the chances that the Leafs gave the Panthers. Woll and Samsonov were able to save a few of them, but not all of them.

Pretty much this .. they just don't have it.

That series win against Tampa should have been the monkey off of their back but their lack of killer instinct and bad habits of the regular season got magnified in this series and now they've checked out.

Need a bit retool.

Keefe is such a terrible, terrible coach...Matthews and Marner were both flops in game 2, and tonight, he still refuses to juggle the lines.

Dubas did everything he could to surround the Core Four with Gamers. It doesn't appear it will be enough.

This has to be the end of this long,.energy drawn experiment. Only Matthews is worth keeping that is if he wants to stay.

The Duke's Archives
Panthers look so much more beatable than the Lightning were and yet the Leafs made many more mistakes and were far less clutch against Florida and as a result they're down 3-0.

Leafs got bailed out by luck and a trash Vasilevskiy. The dusty point shots aren't going in this series. Can't generate much offense otherwise

And Florida is much faster than Tampa. We look very slow in comparison.

ROR is 100% leaving. He sees it first hand how rotten this core is.
agree, but the fact his family is in St Louis, not a chance they come to Canada (other than if he's extremely overpaid) Most Canadian born players who have lived in the states for a few years don't want to return to Canada to live.. Most.....not all.

Sorry chief stop the b.s

The cores straight sad.

Rebuild time is here, they cant win they're proving that
I would say it will be more of a retool and not a rebuild.

All has to happen in the next 7 weeks. At least if they want to move on from Matthews.

For now I will cling to the shred of hope thay they become the 3rd team to come back from 3-0.

I really don't know why as they have not shown me any evidence they can or have the will but what the hell.

I never thought I'd say this, but I really don't care which of the hardcore are gone, nor how many are gone. This kind of heartless game from the core 4 at this point of their careers shows all we need to know.

I honestly thought during the season that this team was different. But, I was fooled again by how these guys put out during the regular season and disappear in the playoffs. The saddest part is their disinterest in having as much passion as their fans do.

But I'm not fooled by that first round win. The core didn't play very well in the Tampa series either. They got lucky and were buoyed by the great play of Rielly.

Regardless of what happens or who goes, one thing for sure, Keefe has to be out of here. What coach is "baffled" by the play of their team in the second round of the playoffs.

I won't blink if it comes out this summer that Brodie has been dealing with an undisclosed injury or has been putting off surgery.. there's no other reason for him to randomly start playing so poorly
Also, putting the blame on Brodie and ROR when your big 4 players look like 4th liners most of the game is unfair. This core NEEDS to be broken apart. Dubas did a solid job IMO. Keefe is not a good coach and this core is not motivated (at least they play that way) for whatever reason. I don't know if Dubas will be back, but if he is Keefe better be gone.
