Hopefully.

I think its 4th team though to come back 3-0

Didn't the leafs do this once in the 80s/90s

Then 2010 philly vs bruins

2014 kings vs sharks

Edit we'd be the 5th time it occurred.

1942 leafs
1975 NYI
2010 Bos
2014 Kings
I forgot about Kings/Sharks

I don't know if that's hard to imagine why anymore.

The idea that it can't work here is definitely taking hold for me.

Unofficial underwriters for the NHL? Too large a market with too big a task given the intangibles.

Wont forget what it was like to see Shanahan holding our card to draft first and see Matthews develop those first few years.

Beyond that...Comfortably numb.

Toronto hasn't won more than 2 rounds since expansion. Every other original 6 team has been to the finals between 5 and 10 times. Maybe it's the pressure of the biggest hockey market in the world, who knows.

Florida has everything going for them right now and it's showing.

Worth noting Florida did win the President's Trophy last year with a lot of those players. There's a lot of talent there. And their depth is just playing outstanding right now.

Leafs didn't come mentally prepared and it's showing.

At this point it really does feel like they thought they'd roll over Florida and don't have any real answer to how the Panthers are playing.

Both teams have a horrible playoff resume over the last 19 years. You'd think both would be throwing everything they had now that they're in the second round. Only one is.

Just kind of shocks me how poor 3/4 of the big four were in a must win game

Florida also has, contrary to the hivemind opinion, a legit NHL coach instead of a rookie like last year. Maurice is coaching circles around Keefe, and Florida would've done much better last year had they not been forced to fire Q

Keefe can't be brought back after this series. I said it elsewhere on the mainboard but he's always the second best coach in a series. If there's a major criticism I would toss at Dubas, keeping Keefe around this long is top of the list. Granted, the stars need to show up but Keefe has been awful in every single playoff series.

Cursed franchise. No one can convince me differently.

We can pray McDavid signs here in a couple years LOL that's about it. I'll tell you one thing though, I will not watch this team play next year if Keefe is still behind the bench and if the core is still the core. My allegiance is with the Toronto Maple Leafs, I care about this franchise and team, not about any single player. If these guys don't respect this team and the fanbase enough to actually play with some f***ing heart for just one game, they don't belong here.

Wonder why Keefe never tried Tavares , O’Reilly and Marner. They had chemistry in the season. Oh well one more game at least eh!

Dunno where they go from here. Team is too good to do a full tear down, but they're also way too garbage to do anything but. Mental strength of toddlers, of all the hockey players in the world, how did we end up with the superstars who turn into slugs when it's on the line? And it's not just one of them, it's all of them. This isn't just an issue of a coach, a GM's philosophy, or a captain, this rot runs all the way through.

How did it even end up like this? Is this the legacy of their contracts and the weight of expectations? The immaturity of young stars in a market that treats them like gods and the trappings of fame distracting them?

If we blow it up, Matthews, Marner, and Nylander will all go on to have massive success elsewhere and people will wonder how the hell it never worked here. But at some point, you gotta cut bait.
I agree with most of what u say and I guess that I think a major glitch was the Tavares signing which created a $$$ starting point for Marner and Matthews contracts. Love Tavares but paying the kids max deals before that did ANYTHING!!! has hurt this team. The flat cap contributed to problems and so did other factors. Keefe is in way over his head. I think I carry more anger for his performance this series than even the core 4.

I have no idea what changes I want made after Wednesday (because of course they’re gonna get blown out in the sweep game), but it’s now clear that there is something fundamentally wrong with this core.

no penalties on the panthers

Please tell me which play stood out to you, that you thought was a missed call ? Referees were actually great tonight, if anything they missed two penalties on us late in this game before OT started. Leafs played like a bunch of f***ing p***yes, scared to go to the net, scared to battle for pucks, you're not getting a call sissy footing around the boards all game.

11 mil dollar players have to play better.
Have to score more then 2 goals a game ROR and Nylander were not great either. They sat Bunting and his 20+goals for what?
