Remember 2010 when we always missed the playoffs but had the best second line in the league and would usually out corsi teams and Ron Wilson was the coach? Those were the days. Good ol’ Grabo the warrior

They were the better team for much of this game, but in the 1st the Leafs were taking it to them and again they let that great starting energy get away from them with an early goal in the 2nd. After that the Leafs couldn't bury any of the chances given to them while the Panthers were better able to convert on what was given to them.

Just don't get how they became unclutch so quickly and how our best players have disappeared and now they're going to need a miracle of a lifetime to comeback and win this series. :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead :shakehead

I thought they doubled our shots in the 1st period? Either way it's just not enough

I'm enjoying watching people turn on the core especially the overpaid two like the rest of us did years ago.

But tbh for me it was more of a case of never being convinced by Sheldon Keefe, maybe they would've gone further at some point with a proven NHL coach but they've missed the window now.

The Montreal series should have been the turning point. I just don’t get how we blew a 3-1 lead and nothing changed.

Well, atleast they had the courtesy to blow it at 9:30pm on a Sunday to blow it, instead of having to wait until 11:30 for the deathblow. Abysmal performance in a must win game. Our zone exits and neutral zone play has been horrific and their doesn't seem to be any adjustments. And, why the hell are Holl and Gustavsson out together in important moments?

I don't know if that's hard to imagine why anymore.

The idea that it can't work here is definitely taking hold for me.

Unofficial underwriters for the NHL? Too large a market with too big a task given the intangibles.

Wont forget what it was like to see Shanahan holding our card to draft first and see Matthews develop those first few years.

Beyond that...Comfortably numb.
If it can work in Montreal, it can work here. Sports is full of juggernauts in high profile markets, there is nothing about hockey in Toronto that is different than sports religion in other markets.

The core is rotten and I think the market plays into that, but I don't think it's impossible.

Sure. JT said the same thing before he came home.
Don't hold your breath with Connor coming home. Other than JT, who actually came back because his gf/wife was starting a business in the GTA name me one Canadian born player in in their prime returned to Canada to play hockey.

There is absolutely zero excuse for losing to the Florida f***ing Panthers, let alone being on the verge of getting swept by them. This series should have represented a clear path to the Conference Finals. Unfortunately though, this team clearly doesn’t care.
