I said this down the stretch on here and other sites; utilizing the 11-7 so frequently after the deadline to work players in is a bad move and messed up our line chemistry and the the mojo our stars had. You need to run 4 lines with consistency down the stretch run and for the playoffs. Our stars have looked out of sorts and are getting outplayed by lesser players as a result.

At least Keefe's lineup shuffles cost us in the second round this year and not the first.

I don't know what to make of this team anymore. I'm a die hard Leafs fan but I'm starting to wonder if our management and core needs a slight adjustment.

We needed to score more than 2 goals for the 3rd straight game and our high powered offence is getting owned by the 8th seed and Sergei f'in Bobrovsky.

We needed just one more goal and it's 2-1 and the world is ours. Now we're done. Kaput. I'm crushed.

Mickey Mouse shirts and purses should have given it away for the entire fanbase, but yeah, the Babcock firing kind of signaled exactly what we were going to get with this franchise with a fraud like Dubas running the ship.

This fanbase deserves so much better.
don't forget our "tiktok and milk" sponsorships.

seriously.

Priority 1 has to be to getting rid of this bum. He should have been out after the Montreal series.

After that - BIG changes. Pick a core player or two and trade them.
Columbus

When he was handed a Game 4 gift from the Gods, for Game 5 he stacked 91/34/16 and had Nylander play centre for the like the 2nd time all season, sat one of the two guys that scored a 5 on 5 goal, and inserted a guy that hadn't played in 5 months.

His decision making and strategic acumen was on full display right there and then

Well, atleast they had the courtesy to blow it at 9:30pm on a Sunday to blow it, instead of having to wait until 11:30 for the deathblow. Abysmal performance in a must win game. Our zone exits and neutral zone play has been horrific and their doesn't seem to be any adjustments. And, why the hell are Holl and Gustavsson out together in important moments?

Keefe is still experimenting...if he doesn't know his team by now, he's done.

We're the Leafs doing all these dumb back passes before Keefe came on board I can't remember.

In addition to the rotten core, I don't think the Leafs have enough talent on defense. Sammy and Woll did their part.

Does anyone think we would've done better if we didn't make any of those trades? I feel like we lost our cohesiveness as a team and started getting outplayed on a regular basis since the trade deadline

I always suspected Marners hockey IQ was lacking and his God given skill masked how low it really is.

Playoff after playoff....it's becoming apparent my suspicions look true. He's not that smart of a player.

There is no running it back again next year

Major changes have to happen. Blow up the core, fire keefe and possibly dubas
But…but….the Shanaplan?
Actually, the Leafs are now ready for, and worthy of, hiring Dallas Eakins.
Do not resist….Let the lottery gods be with you!

Why should that change anything? We’ve seen other teams stars play their hearts out, win and then get surgery. I’m tired of the injury excuse for them not showing up.
Not an excuse. Unless they have a serious injury there is no explaining their play.

If they’re not injured, some need to be traded.

Watching that OT again, the Leafs put on a clinic in how not to play hockey. They were totally lifeless in the neutral zone and didn't even try to make life hard on zone entries; they just conceded it without a fight. Then there were the constant icings and total inability to transition the puck themselves. It's been a running theme all playoffs, and is a perfect recipe for losing hockey games. If Vasilevskiy wasn't a complete sieve in round one, they would be long gone from the playoffs

why not just do the handshake line now, get this shit over with. Yes 3-0 comebacks have happened in the playoffs this isnt the team that can believe they can do it. They sure as shit dont show it.

New management. Shanahan out for sure. Matthews traded before July 1 for a boatload of talent from L.A. Sign McDavid in 2 years. That's best case scenario.
Why would LA give a "boatload of talent" for the privilege of overpaying that bum?

Man, that honestly felt like one of the more painful loses... what's wrong with these guys ffs there's no passion, no desire... Want to root for them so bad, and see a real run, but here we are. Just f***in brutal

At the very least Keefe has to go. If you keep this core then put a new coach in at least. Anything. It won’t work but I’d rather see a new face fail behind the bench.
I'll have hope until the bitter end that the Leafs can win this series.

However, if they go out in the next game or two I'd definitely like to see this team with another coach. I've been up and down on Keefe, but this team is too talented to not have gone on a longer run so far.

A lot of people will disagree, but Dubas has routinely put together a deep and talented squad. I'd like to keep him and get a new coach to see if he can keep this team motivated and hammer in a system to reduce the mental gaffes.

Given his contract situation, I wouldn't be surprised to see both let go, but that's what I'd prefer.
