They were the 2nd best team today. Stars for the Leafs really did nothing.

They needed to win the 2nd game at home, they were the better team, and didn't get the win. First game it was a toss-up, but this game they weren't as good as Florida and Florida capitalized on it, something the Leafs did not do in game 2.

Probably lose in 4 or 5 now. It was nice to get the 1st round win for the first time in forever (what a feeling), but watching Matthews and Marner out there generate basically nothing is a letdown. You watch McDavid and Draisaitl, they takeover games. Matthews used to be able to do that, but I really haven't seen that out of him all year.

Can’t believe this team has been held to only two goals a game this series. Insane how ineffective the so-called Big Four are. We got goals from Knies, Bunting, ROR, Kerfoot, Lafferty, and Gustafsson. If even ONE of our highest paid players could show up on the scoresheet we’re probably only looking at a 2-1 series deficit.

The sad part is, Leafs didn't need them to score for a 2-1 series, like in game 2...but they gifted goals to Florida... :help:

I said this down the stretch on here and other sites; utilizing the 11-7 so frequently after the deadline to work players in is a bad move and messed up our line chemistry and the the mojo our stars had. You need to run 4 lines with consistency down the stretch run and for the playoffs. Our stars have looked out of sorts and are getting outplayed by lesser players as a result.

At least Keefe's lineup shuffles cost us in the second round this year and not the first.

I don't know what to make of this team anymore. I'm a die hard Leafs fan but I'm starting to wonder if our management and core needs a slight adjustment.

We needed to score more than 2 goals for the 3rd straight game and our high powered offence is getting owned by the 8th seed and Sergei f'in Bobrovsky.

We needed just one goal and it's 2-1 and the world is ours. Now we're done. Kaput. I'm crushed.

Seems like an excuse for top guys who haven't even been able to make basic plays.

Matthews and Marner have played together consistently for 7 years. They are just playing poorly for whatever reason and they alone are responsible for that.

Now this is a team that could easily rattle off 4 straight and make a historic comeback, but it starts with the guys up top.

Isn't Keefe like the only head coach Dubas has ever hired?

If Keefe is truly terrible, then Dubas deserves quite a bit of blame seeing he's been his chosen coach forever and shows he doesn't really have a good read on what makes a good coach.

Weren't they also spouting last offseason that Keefe was going to be one of the "greats" in the coaching department?

Dubas has done some good things but he's also gone all in on this core while saying he'd bet his career on it and believed Keefe was the right coach to lead them to a championship.

It's going to take a handful of picks to unload tavares's contract, but honestly it will probably only be a fraction of what we get when we dump the other three. I say do it.

I wish they'd just fold the franchise and give us the Toronto Leprechauns in 2025. Start fresh. No historical baggage, different colours, just a random hockey team you can tune into and enjoy.

Are you sure they are coming? There are going to be 50 Dubas passed the tests posts and the majority of fans want to keep him around.

Fanbase wants to double down on the loser. Good luck with that.
I don't hate Dubas or think he's a bad gm but he put in trust in a core that he shouldn't of in hind sight of course its easy to say.

After the Tampa series I was pumped like everyone but this is just so beyond bad how they've responded after that series win finally.

However I think most gms would of because the talent is insane... but they choke over and over. Blame the coach too if you want but those top 4 aren't the right mix. If you can retool I'd do it. There's enough on this team to really change itb and still make some runs but not with these guys.

So I'm done with this core. I don't know the changes they need but they need a bunch. Especially with the core 4. A couple... or at least 1 should go and then bring in some younger guys and picks.

After saying all this... if they win 4 in a row I'll eat crow no problem but I highly doubt that.

Good Riddance! When the pens ownership don't throw money around like MLSE did and tell him to F-OFF within 2 years like they did the most recent exec team, it would be hilarious to see how someone who is a result of nepotism who has never worked for anything in his life gets whats coming to them

He ruined the best chance Leafs had had to win the cup in about 50 years. I will never forgive this trash ever!
Dubas started his Leaf GM life on third base and his fans think he hit a triple.
