That’s why it’s important to watch the game lol

Yeah, one team got much better goaltending.

The Leafs had many more chances, including dangerous chances. Not much you can do when Samsonov gets beat twice from the blue line and is facing backwards on their shots.

The game wasn't close in terms of chances.

There's definitely scoring chance stats, score effects stats, hitting a fair share of posts and bad luck, maybe Ersson was better... but there's the fact that they let in a goal 15 seconds into the game and that kind of invalidates every other excuse. If there's such thing as a karmic dog house, they were in it, and they deserved to lose.

I’m confused is this the elite contender Leafs that we have been hearing about or the normal leafs that will crap the bed in the playoffs?

But the goal that went in 15 seconds into the game was a bad goal allowed by Samsonov.

The panel even talked about how it was a bad goal and every goalie in the NHL should have that.

Is that last weeks?

Today.

Not really much more to say about this team that hasn’t been said before about the roster construction style.

it seems to not matter who we bring in, or what they do in the off-season, we need a serious coach... like how much do we have to see, he gets out coached time after time

That and a new core.

Firing Keefe is the first logical step though when they get dummied in round one again. After that, hire a new coach and if this teams bows out early again the year after, you starting dismantling this core. Tavares and Marner’s contract will be finished by then and there will be ample opportunity to re-tool this team.

I’m not sure I can survive a whole careers worth of annual fails that this current group is dead set on.

If we had a different coach, I think they should construct a Zezel-Osborne-Berg checking line and just have them start an up-tempo game, forecheck it hard for the first shift and just set a tone. Like these 3 guys will be responsible for setting the pace, getting the blood going and that will be their whole identity, role to start every game and period.

Don't start the skill guys who give you something random to start every game depending on how they feel. Have a purpose.

That's on coaching. And Keefe is not smart.
‘Energy’ and ‘shifting momentum’ isn’t in this team’s DNA. It can happen with a decent shift, maybe we get a PP and score. But that’s not what I’m talking about. When a team is winning the battles and taking our space, right now, we let it happen and maybe our skill comes through. We don’t have anyone that is actively trying to disrupt the other teams momentum. You need both of these elements. I hope Tre realizes this, because Keefe doesn’t. They don’t play the ‘right way’ and I think that is something we can all see.

So much bad history over the years.

Its not the losing that bothers me. I mean winning and losing is part of the game. Its the way lose. Its like watching the same bad movie again and again

If they would show a different look; a different side I could at least appreciate that they tried doing something different to get a better result lol

The mark of a great team with great coaching is a team that is never out of any game and is always a threat to come back. That's the Leafs

The Leafs aren't great.
It's going to take stupid puck luck to win a round this year.

How long are we supposed to be satisfied with the narrative that we out chanced them but just lost anyway.

Looks like I didn’t miss much. Almost comeback that doesn’t work out, can’t say I haven’t seen that 100 times before

If team showed up to play this would’ve been a win.

If Rielly Brodie weren’t such idiots we would’ve won

If Samsonov could stop a point shot we would’ve won

It’s nice that the big 2 + JT decided to come play in the 3rd. Would’ve been nice had they done it for the rest of the game

if woll wins tmrw with a good game, I’d run him a couple games. Keep alternating after a bad game. neither of these guys are good enough to warrant giving the starter role already

Hard to stop pucks you can’t see. It wasn’t a great game for him, admittedly, but it’s not the reason we lost. We didn’t show up for 40 minutes.

Agreed mostly but just prior to dismantling the core you have to fire Shanny and Treliving and bring in someone that knows what the hell they are doing

We built a team on the promise of uber elite skill... that doesn't win Art Ross Trophies but we pay more for Rocket Richards (let me double check if Bure, Nash, Kovalchuk were worth more and better than everyone else in their era again).

Can't win a division title and we have "meaningless games" because we're so deep in our own purgatory that there's no point in trying.

We worry about playoff matchups when every team in the conference is a bad matchup.

Keefe puts Matthews and Nylander on the PK to purposely cheat for offense, but can't seem to figure out why we can't PK properly.

How many minutes on a PP have they lost over the course of Keefe's career dropping the puck back in transition on the PP?

Why is Robertson playing point man on PP2?

Like what is this monstrosity of a team?

Probably the only team nearing Playoffs as a lock and we are making bloopers found in October.

No solid passes.
PP1 and 2 are duds too often
Matthews only wants to shoot it.
Nylander has failed toe drags leading to breakaways last 6 games.
Few other plays making dipsy do passes between legs.

Keefe insists on playing Brodie Rielly.
like JFC.

Benoit is our best D by a mile. saved us 2 goals by hsi play alone.
Keefe sits the guy for a game ffs.

First round fodder.
We are Cat food or Bear food.

Top guys too soft.
JT is probably the toughest of them all but hes ageing and never shows emotion.

Rebuild this offseason

Leafs special teams have completely killed them in every playoff series. I mean when are they gonna learn?

I think Jankrok, Marner and Boosh back in would help somewhat.

If someone can force Keefe to not play Brodie top4 mins that would be great too
