Its almost like when there is tight checking the "all star" players on the team don't feel like playing. They are just running through the motions running out the clock
It's like they're just waiting to play their favorite 6 on 5, all-star-game-half-court-hero-drill instead of just participating in a normal game and winning 3-2 on an honest day's effort. That would be too much work, but 2 minutes of effort is fine.

It hasn't worked out.
He embarrassed himself last playoffs.

I really believe it’s a coaching issue. For the first half of the game I thought more of our players just weren’t feeling well, but then we woke up in the 3rd. We weren’t ready to play, and it’s because Philly came out aggressive taking our space. We still don’t know how to effectively adjust our game when they do this. It’s why our record against the west is good and our division is crap. The teams in our division know how to play us and Keefe hasnt made effective adjustments.

Other players have had that happen to them.
So not completely on Robertson.
Trouble is Robertson doesn't really have game beyond a shot.
Maybe in time he will.
He can still be sent to the minors, and perhaps playing 1st. line minutes, if they trust him enough, in the minors would be better than a part-time player in the NHL.

Effort and attention to detail has always been a problem IMO. Just recall game 2 against panthers. Leafs have 2-0 lead and Matthews-Marner play fancy crap give up the puck and panthers score, gain momentum.
I mean you've been in the league for 5+ years now, ffs grow up LOL

If we had a different coach, I think they should construct a Zezel-Osborne-Berg checking line and just have them start an up-tempo game, forecheck it hard for the first shift and just set a tone. Like these 3 guys will be responsible for setting the pace, getting the blood going and that will be their whole identity, role to start every game and period.
Don't start the skill guys who give you something random to start every game depending on how they feel. Have a purpose.
That's on coaching. And Keefe is not smart.

If Robertson ever succeeds as an NHLer, it's going to be on another team that sends a different message to him, with a wake up call. His buzzy, flashy stuff doesn't work when it's devoid of details.

Embarrassed himself last playoffs? You mean in winning a playoff series??? Forgot about that? And they lost to the team that went to the Finals to a red hot goalie. Them the breaks. But Keefe certainly didn't embarrass himself by winning a playoff round. Only in the deluded minds of the Sky is Falling fans that are determined to make themselves miserable
it seems to not matter who we bring in, or what they do in the off-season, we need a serious coach... like how much do we have to see, he gets out coached time after time
