Pings, Tings, Dings but no Bling!

Story of the game.

Robertson is gonna get scratched next game isn't he ? LMAO

Robertson needs to go to an expansion team. For a guy so low on the pecking order he shouldn’t even have been point on PP2 but his hero dangles, fire drill shit on every play and coughing up the game winner like a chicken with his head cut off is not the way to earn a spot. That kind of stuff is not worth the few goals he manages to score.

So what's the Matthews injury people will come up with to explain him choking his ass off after getting all that Hart attention.

Wrist, shoulder, flu a second time? I know some must have already started the coping.

Can't wait to watch him vs the Bruins again.
It’s shark week for him.

IMO it has to do with the game plan for the Leafs. The goal posts that Leafs had most of them (or I think all of them) were from the outside/perimeter hockey.

You clog the neutral zone and keep them to the outside then leafs have no game plan. I;ve never see Leafs dump and chase when blue line and/or center ice is taken away. Chip and chase is just not part of this hockey club. Its one dimensional play "try to carry the puck in"; well..... if you can do it freely and get slot chances then great; but if you are being kept to the outside and denied easy entries then you gotta do something different.

Thats on coaching IMO

Yep. Keefe has to go.

It was nice to see Benoit back

At first I thought, oh man a bunch of them must be sick, not just Boosh. But then they showed something in the 3rd so clearly they just weren’t ready again. When teams take away our space we break down, and everyone knows it. Again, Keefe hadn’t helped them address this.

I have been saying Brodie is the worst player in the NHL for quite some time now. This hasn’t changed.
Flyer fan... coming in peace. We are terrible, lucky win. But on your point...nope. Marc Staal...by far. Seriously not even close. You probably don't see him that much...I do. Brodie not great, but Staal is atrocious. Anyways..thats all.

A lot of good things to take from tonight. All those posts :eek3: Ouch. Just bad puck luck. This team showed once again why the Leafs have a real chance to win it all. They just never quit. They're never out of any game. That's good coaching. Keefe's team never gives up. Benoit also had a great game. Perhaps extra motivation provided by Keefe. That's coaching. And Bobby McMann still hustling is inspiring.

Ready for a great game tomorrow against the a desperate Caps team that's on a roll.

Bottom of the chart again.

They weren’t ready to play tonight. That’s it. No cohesion, not enough smarts out there, and they were simply outworked. The coaches didn’t have them ready to play, again.

Ups and downs in a season, we are experiencing a down. We’re not this bad.

A team with this kind of consistent low floor game means you can never trust their ceiling when things are going well.

How can you not be ready to play an NHL game like once a week minimum?

Didn’t he score 5 goals last time he played Boston while outplaying the Bergeron line?

The bad news is we lost. The good news is we would've won if the nets for a little bigger. That Nylander post after that unreal play to get through the D was a killer. Then that block from the Philly D on that Domi open net was a game saver. Matthews needs to start taking over games if he's gonna be the highest paid player in the league. This is a bit crazy how he's paid so much but can be so inconsistent when it comes to taking control of games. Anyone who says he's on the level of McDavid and Mackinnon is on some damn good drugs because he's not on their level at all.

The PP also needs to stop being so predictable. Every zone entry they do the same 2 things. Drop it back to the 2 guys trailing and then when they get to the blue line they pass it to the guy on the boards who has been standing still and has no speed. This allows the defenders to easily close in on that guy which just gives them an easy clear and then we repeat the same thing and get the same results. Guy with speed should carry it in or at least do a self pass off the end boards that he should easily get against a defender standing still inside his own blueline.

4th goal was a killer. Too bad, game was there to be had.

Tonight's game reminded me of the CBJ series. Keefe hasn't learned one thing!

This was exactly the CBJ series. Against the same coach. And fundamentally, there’s been zero evolution in the core group and Keefe’s coaching since then. Just come out bored and unprepared, half ass a couple of periods, look confused and then try to hero a comeback on nothing but all-star game talent.

too bad. Many posts, sloppy plays on many of the flyers goals. Win some lose some.

This is hardly the first time their PP is clueless about what is going on besides trying to score.

Had all the mo and that just put the game out of reach.

Worst part is they had enough players back but those players were clueless.

This is why Robertson has such a hard time keeping a job ... one tool player.

Keefe planted the seeds for this when he refused to take Philly seriously in the last game and put Ryan Reaves out on the PP to gift them a goal instead of competing. His loser energy needs to go

Its almost like when there is tight checking the "all star" players on the team don't feel like playing. They are just running through the motions running out the clock
