Here’s what Dobber says about Pillar in a recent update:

Pillar is a versatile playmaker who utilizes his strong skating to create space and also backtrack on defense. Despite being undersized, Pillar is always engaged and isn’t afraid of going to the dirty areas to make a play. Capable of playing at center and the wing. Although you shouldn’t expect great point-scoring statistics from Pillar, you can count on him to be consistent with SOG and hits.

And from Elite Prospects:

The foundation of Kamloops Blazers forward Josh Pillar's game is skating. He identifies opportunities to further his speed advantage by baiting the defender with changes of pace and hesitations, then accelerating once they reach. He's turned into a direct checker who forces poor decisions, supports the play, and occasionally gets involved physically.

Seems like he’s more of an energy player, max third line potential if his scoring can translate.. but for a throw in prospect you never know about a guy with good foundations like this

How Ryan O’Reilly deal impacts Maple Leafs’ playoff chances

6:45 | February 17, 2023

Elliotte Friedman joins Sportsnet Central to break down the Toronto Maple Leafs’ acquisition of Ryan O’Reilly in a three-team trade, discussing what the team got in the deal, their future outlook and the 2019 Conn Smythe winner’s leadership.

It’s a real blue collar kind of designer $800 pre-ripped jean jacket, the kind men wore when men were men.
Considering Blue Collar makes more than White Collar now. If I need a lawyer, most lawyers would meet me at certain time and date after I called to make a booking. If I need a plumber, the best any one of them can do is, between certain date, and don't even bother asking them what time, bc their answers would either be, 'I will be there when I get there or between noon to 5pm.' LOL

which players did we send down to marlies?
Anderson and Simmonds.

Anderson and Simmonds.
This isn't true. At a comparative level:

A high-end white collar worker makes more than a high-end blue collar worker.
A mid-level white collar worker makes more than a mid-level blue collar worker.
A low-level white collar worker makes more than a low-level blue collar worker.

Now if you wanna say the top plumbers in the country makes more than the average white collar worker, that's fair but comparatively...it's not close. There are numbers to back this up, and I say this as someone with plenty experience in both areas. There is no trade/blue collar job on earth pulling in what top end white collar workers make.

Don't understand why Dubas holds responsibility if we fail again.

This GM has filled out cupboards wil actual prospects in later rounds and have built a pretty solid line up, and now we actually have playoff grit that we needed, without giving up our ripe blue chippers.

At what point can the GM do whatever he can to put a roster that should eat teams alive but yet we let the COACH off the hook for not having them play to their potential when it matters most.

If Keefe fails again with this roster he should be the first guy out before DUBAS.

How often year after year do we say "this team looks good on paper" that's the GMs job. The coach is suppose to utilize them properly.
I've been saying this the last few seasons for the most part. Dubas has been shuffling deck chairs the past 3 or 4 years adding different support players, energy players, grit, role players etc. But the one thing that has remained the same was the core and their inability to show up and play with a consistent playoff gear. We've had Matthews, Marner and Tavares all become complete ghosts at times as well as our goalies not making simple routine saves in game 7s. Marner also has looked like he's playing scared in some series.

I dont see much fault in Keefe either. More so the players not getting their shit together and show some balls.

I enjoyed reading this piece on him.

Going on the premise of nothing comes of him, but if anything Dubas has shown shrewd instincts at finding talent and doesn’t make these kinds of moves without intent.

Ultimately, you miss every shot you don’t take right?
Kind of sounds like another McMann
