You mean the guy who has only missed 29 games since 2016 prior to his fractured foot?

The old slow guy who is exactly 7 months older than Jarnkrok? That guy? The guy who is 5 months younger than Tavares?
The 29 games missed includes the 14 missed for his fractured foot.

I don’t think he’s going to take league minimum but can we get him at 4.5 instead of 7.5 on a 2 year deal? Probably. I’ve been high on the ROR train. I believe he’s wanted to play in Toronto for some time now and they’ve finally made it happen.

Is he worth 4.5M at this point? 19 points in 40 games is a 39 point pace. Even if you give him the benefit of the doubt and say he's been unlucky this year, he's clearly on the decline, and once that starts, it tends to continue.

ROR has played a physical style game. Those types of players usually see a massive drop around age ~30-32 (Simmonds for example is only 34, and has been a 4th liner/AHL calibre player for years now).

I'd love to re-sign him, but I think the caphit should start with a 3, unless he really takes off down the stretch.

What I find kind of interesting in the 4th for Minnesota's retention is how expensive it is for a team to manufacture a mid round pick. Literally costs millions.

A lot of flexibility though. Maybe we get a Top 4 D?

I actually think it was remarkably cheap for Minny in real dollars.

O'Reilly had a 5mil signing bonus and his base salary this year is only 1 mil. 2/3 of that has already been paid. Minny only picked up 25% of the remaining 330k.

So in real dollars, I think they only paid $85k for a late 4th. That's quite a bargain.

I'm liking ROR's classic American workwear style.

Not me. I'm more of a realist. Zero reason at this moment not to love this move.
I know , I know Brotha

Essentially rolling it back 4 years ago when you were three centers deep but decided to screw that up. Only difference being, you paid a premium to acquire the center back versus giving the asset away for pennies.

Dubas is a dumpster fire.

He's producing, his linemates are literally the worst in the league at finishing.

The Leafs got lucky, as he will rebound.

And if he didn't add you would be coming in here saying Dubas sucks for not adding to a team competing for a cup. Pick a lane and stick to it.

yep...

he plays with a guy that couldnt crack our 4th line here in toronto.
hes gonna fit in perfectly here imo, like kadri lvl 3rd line C without the stupid mistakes.

Oh, that's why. I missed the signing bonus angle.

Tampa has a proven 1G (vezina) 1C, 1D (Norris, Smythe), 1W (art ross)

don’t things they need a “major add” just a few tweaks

Toronto has a Norris winner (more recent than Hedman), Smythe, Lindsay, Rocket, Hart, 2x 1C, 2x 1W... what is your point?

They need an add unless they just want to try to win maybe a series or two. Their team is worse than last year and they lost last year and barely beat us.

44 point no D #3C Kadri who was suspended for 3 playoffs? Only one dumpster fire I see. This post.
"You"

What's the main account? Oilers? Sens?

f***in sad.
Why are non Leaf board tr*lls welcomed with open arms?

No doubt ROR will help. He's such a smart player and he'll give us everything he has. Much to my relief we can put together a top level shutdown line now.
Acciari is a good energy guy but is someone i've always felt should produce more offensively. Maybe it will pick up here but after this long in the league i doubt it. He'll help us out in other areas though.
Don't know anything about Pillar.

So we're a better team today. Can't wait to see how much better.
