Biggest Question/Criticism:

If Kerfoot gets selected in the expansion draft, what's left from the Kadri trade? Calle Rosen?

It’s strange that the argument is

“Holl plays really well with Muzzin but sucks without him”

They are acknowleding Holls value in a pairing with Muzzin with a caveat that doesn’t matter because he will remain paired with Muzzin

Well, considering that Muzzin is better without him then he is with him I'd say the argument is pretty valid.

If your assessment is shared by Seattle front staff, then they would not take Kerfoot in the first place. Especially given that there are several solid 2/3rd line centres that went unprotected.

So then they would have taken Dermott. So then who would you rather hang onto - Dermott or Hallander+7th?
Dermott was a healthy scratch at points last year and the leafs played him in a way that showed pretty much no trust in him.

For Seattle it would have largely have been a "pick your poison" between Dermott and Kerfoot.

Good thing Dubas made the decision very easy for them. They'll take McCann in a heartbeat.

I don't understand any of this at all.

Last two years:

Muzzin W/ Holl: 56.7gf%, 57.2xgf%
Muzzin w/o Holl: 53.2gf%, 51.4xgf%

Much better with Holl than without.

Whoever Seattle picks, I bet Seattle's team will be better than ours anyways.

Looking at who they have to choose from, they should field a surprisingly good team. They’ll have better goaltender than the Leafs that’s a guarantee.

Not a fan of Campbell? I know he's not fully "tested" yet, but I have high hopes based on last years performance.

What do you guys think would take for Dubas to acquire Nicolas Roy from Vegas? They just acquired Nolan Patrick who can slot in at the center position over Roy and with Kerfoot most likely being selected that leaves our 3C with a big hole.

Does Dermott for Roy make the deal happen?

I like Roy, get Gauthier from the Rangers while your at it.

Roy would bring some size down the middle for us.

With Kerfoot most likely gone, McGinn would be a nice local boy to sign in free agency. He was definitely overpaid on his previous contract (2.1) but if he’s willing sign with a little hometown discount for 1.5 million that would be nice.

Third line of: McGinn - Roy - Mikheyev

Always knew it would be Holl protected and not Dermott, I still don't understand why that was a conversation. In relation to the Leafs exposing McCann and Kerfoot, the leafs are going to have one of them as their 3rd line center next year, regardless of whoever Seattle takes.

Definitely some strange hot takes in here considering we’ve pretty much known all year that a combination of Holl, Kerfoot, and/or Dermott would be exposed.
A lot of fans are confused why we traded for McCann only to expose him in order to prevent losing Kerfoot/Dermott. I still can't make sense of it.

McCann will be in our top six.
