Pretty much agree.

Resign accari kampf as well. Hell even ZAR who I hate played wel early on he can be the 13F and lafferty can resign for cheap.

I’m just the most torn at 34. Best leaf well ever see and he has no heart. (No Sundin is not better. Yes I watched every game of his). I don’t know what we could get in a return that would make me trade 34 even though he’s a loser.
Matthews is not better than Sundin.

He can ask, but he’s not getting 10 million unless the cap goes up 10 million.
He'd get 10+ million on the open market, so he'd leave if need be. He and his family only care about money. Leafs have to accept giving him 10+ million or trade him while they still can.

Sundin and Mogilny were both better than Matthews.
If you want to give him accolades, we could say Matthews has/had the 2nd best wrist shot in Leafs history.

They shit the bed this year but they are built right.
If youre referring to NYR I don't agree.

They have the goaltending but can't skate, suck at even strength, suffer from veteran entitlement and have only 1 D that can really move the puck.

What other 85 point forward is making $10m? There is only one Dubas out there and he won't be allowed to hand out that kind of money in Pittsburgh.

For them to go up 2-0 on the road and lose the next 4, and then fire the coach tells me there was something serious wrong in that dressing room. With a few good moves this summer, they will be right back IMO.

Against Tampa Bay, Matthews was excellent. In this series? He produced one point at five-on-five and no goals. Marner recorded three points in five games but only one at five-on-five. As the whistles went away and the hockey was mostly played at five-on-five, it became increasingly difficult to find either player during the flow of the game. They certainly weren’t hopping over the boards and attacking the game shift after shift.

At some point, you really have to ask why. Are they playing too much and out of gas? Are they too predictable? Do they need to be split apart? It’ll be part of a much larger offseason discussion.

They need to get rid of Panarin but like Tavares he's got a NMC and has no desire to leave.

Rip this team to the freaking studs and find a coach who isn't afraid to healthy scratch JT til the expiration of his contract. You cannot win a Cup with that man on your roster and as your captain at this point in his career. I feel guilty typing this out since he's just a man, but he cannot play 5v5 playoff hockey anymore. Since we can't compete while he's still on the team might as well rebuild as much as possible
Don't you think TOR are stuck with Tavares? If he's healthy and contributing at a 0.850 ppg rate, the next coach/gm will play him. He's not ideal. I understand that, but haven't we put to bed that Tavares is likely here until he retires?

Not going to lie I don't even think Florida is that well coached.. they sat back a lot with leads in second half of games in this series, relying on some luck and the Leafs' beating themselves to win this series.

If they do that against Carolina they'll be in trouble.
They have Paul Maurice.

Dude probably spends down time trying to find Andy Wozniewski's phone number.

I think the most telling thing about this group is it took until they were down 3-0 in a series, in their 7th year, for them to finally figure out how to play playoff hockey.

Looking back at the last two games for the most part they played exactly how you have to to win. They blocked shots, they took away the slot for the Panthers, almost no rebounds, solid goaltending (and most importantly no morale-shattering softies), they shut down Florida's stars, okay star.

The downside was that they couldn't score and were still having difficultly with the Panthers forecheck, but overall they showed they can play the style that wins and the effort was absolutely there. Just too little, too late.

And it doesn't leave me optimistic that now that they've figured it out they'll start winning because it's clear this team only seems interested in playing that way when they absolutely have to - like being down 3-0 in a series.

Bingo. They needed that effort on that Sunday afternoon prime time time game 6 at home against Boston.
History would be different

Silver lining. No more Keefe or Dubas.
Shanahan better be fired too. He is an NHL shill to make our Leafs competitive, BUT NOT good enough to win a Stanley Cup !!!

He and his family can now be re-united in NJ permanently !!! I believe he never moved his family to Toronto because he WAS NOT committed to the job all along !!!

JT is not a perimeter guy. He takes a beating, with no one coming to help. He does not skate well for sure but he heads for the front of the net.
Had some good chances and looks in OT. You know what youre going to get from him, and it isnt speed or game breaking, but he was one of our best last night IMO
