At least Matthews was a factor in games 5-7 against Tampa - where the f*** was Mitch?

He needs to be the one who goes, and contrary to the low IQ takes some team would offer the moon for him, more even if the Leafs retain a mil, mil and a half.

Keep Willy.

We’re stuck with JT but I’d like him gone, captain of the good ship Lollypop.

Mo was out best player.

Woll is legit.

Holl needs to go.

Lily needs to take a good look in the mirror.

Brodie is trash - it’s okay to be a Dman who doesn’t score but try to not let them score.

Keefe should be fired immediately after his presser but he should hit the league and refs with both barrels.

Florida played a hard series and Bob was God mode, you have to give it to them. They checked tight, took runs and capitalized on their chances.

Well f***. Honestly though I thought the team played a great game, were the better team by a wide margin, just didn’t get the bounces (or the calls). And for the series as a whole, really every game could have gone either way, all down to the wire.

This is the first playoffs with this group where I thought we played very well. Tampa and Florida are both strong teams, both series were super even. We got the bounces vs. Tampa, didn’t get them vs. Florida. I was on team “blow it up” after the Columbus and Montreal series, but honestly this year we played well IMO.

I’d fire Keefe, and make some changes to the roster, but certainly wouldn’t blow it up.
You thought they played well va Tampa?

McJesus
Should have been over in 5

I’d fire Keefe, and make some changes to the roster, but certainly wouldn’t blow it up.
That's ultimately where I'm at. Get a coach with a f***ing defensive structure, something this core has NEVER had.

Er.. games 1 and 2 the Leafs dominated the third for a goal and still couldn't pull through.

They just don't have it.

The key is hating to lose more than liking winning.. and the Leafs don't have it.
you can’t just nap in the first and expect to win. they napped in the first again today but it was more of an afternoon siesta rather than deep rem sleep

Lots of questions on how tonight went down, but at the end of the day our difference makers were at best net neutral and largely hurt us.

Itll be an interesting off season

Not even sure what to say. Thought we were the better team all series. Tonight was a shitshow for reffing, and their goalie was incredible.

I'm at a loss of words.... Really don't know what to say, thought we had one of our better efforts tonight.

I agree but if year after year all we can talk about is reffing and the other teams goalie then their might be an underlying issue

How can you say not willing to go to the dirty areas and then say they should not trade Nylander in the same post. He never throws checks he is a player who only gets involved if he has a chance to score. Not any other time. He needs to go and I hope the Gm we trade him to feels the same as you do.
A guy with average looks looks like a model next to a bunch of ogres

I'm guessing you don't remember '95-'97, when Fletcher decided to "retool" the '93-'94 teams by trading a bunch of developing and young assets for proven veterans to "build a team that could win in the playoffs"... Only to have back to back first round losses followed by missing the playoffs and having to lose most of those assets for nothing due to retirement or free agency.
I remember it very well, but the fact is they made the playoffs for the entire sequence of years that would be considered the mid-90s.

On the positive side, they move one step closer to their final goal.

The guys played well in the TB series and had moments in the Panther series. Just need to be better and work harder.

Most importantly, need a new coach.

This would have been fine if this was 2019. It's 2023 and we have 1 series win, it's not good enough.

I know our core needs to be better and we needed more than a small step forward.

However, I want to see this team with a different coach.

I don't think Keefe is a bad coach at all and he'll probably be in the NHL for a long time. However, a change in system can make a huge difference to a team's performance.

Yea but what do you do at this point?

If you trade a core four piece, are we any better?

Time to prepare for a new era as this one is over.

The best regular season performers but worst drop off come playoffs. That will be the legacy of this regime.

They deserved better last year and one of the Boston series. The rest was earned.

Dubas tried everything to support his immovable faith in this group when in reality it should have been broken up after the Montreal fiasco. Possibly even before. He had a great deadline buf it wasn't enough to overcone it's true identity.

You're ignoring that we've gone down this path in the past, and when it comes to the Leafs "retooling", it leads to a decade of no playoffs.
I have faith in us hiring better people than we had in the passed.
Are you asking us to be OK with us losing (in a variety of different ways) with this core until they all retire, because previously we had bad teams?

Is this it? It has to be this core group forever? Or nothing? If so, it's worse than I thought.

Jake Muzzin was missed this series. Sam Bennett would have been less of a factor. Muzzin would have jarred him, slowed him down. Consequences.

Going forward we have two talented young players who play cheap. Knies, Woll. This has to help against the cap. Invest wisely GM, whoever that might be.
