I disagree. He has no defined role. Just because he's bottom 6 doesn't mean he's not expected to be on the ofensive zone or try to be offensive. Days of Bill Berg are long gone.

I have no problem with the role, the thing is he looks slow. Especially against a team like the Habs, you have to be able to skate

Don't think I'd agree with that. He gets thrown out when the coaches' don't want to calm things down and not worry about giving up a goal/risky play (they'll need to rest the top two lines once in a while). And so far not on the ice for a goal against.

Jack knew he had to redeem himself after that tieing goal. Hats off to him for shaking it off and basically winning the game for us in the 3rd.

The two players who arguably made a mistake on the goal against (Rielly and Campbell) ended up being the ones to get us the win. Mo with the GWG and Campbell just shutting it down the rest of the way.

I don’t understand the dislike towards Marner. He got an apple and he’s doing alright defensively. Leave him be. I get it $11 million but the Leafs are winning and he’s not hurting them. Even without playing his best he’s still helping the team produce. Good players produce even when they don’t look spectacular. He’s also getting several looks. Last game he put a good shot on net from the Nylander feed and Price just pulled a Price. Cant do shyt about that.
This game people are saying he should have shot but there was no opening on that one play and he was on his backhand. He’s not Joe Sakic ffs. It was the right percentage play to try to create a play

I don't dislike Marner but if we want to seriously challenge for the cup, we need a lot more from him.

Marner's issues are all between the ears. Highly doubt bulking up would do him any good.

If he could go into a one on one puck battle and participate like an average NHLer by giving or taking a pro level hit it would help his confidence that he’s going to get destroyed.

These games are like smokes, every one is taking ten minutes off my life.

Seen a million third periods like that one in playoffs, they handled it pretty good actually, obviously, because win. Should have been 4-1 going into third, Price being playoff Price.

I'd consider sitting Thornton using the back to back as an excuse. I suppose it depends on Foligno's availability for tomorrow.

Nash for Foligno if he can't go. Brooks in for Thornton, Joe is offering nothing out there and we may as well be down a player when he's on the ice. If they don't rest Thornton tomorrow then it's never happening.

He didn’t have a terrible game and contributed some good things tonight but as a general comment if he’s going to demand top 5 money in the game, it means he’s set the bar very high for himself each and every game.

We will win this series. Bad third period though

I know Nash is one of those players that you are not supposed to notice and nothing good or bad happens on the ice when he is on. But he just doesn't seem to fit our system. I want to see Brooks slot in if Foligno is out next game. He earned his spot

Keefe starts him as second line center if Foligno can't go....

also, i think foligno could have played tonight but they decided to give him an extra day because of the b2b. i think its a good call

Problem is 10.9 million is tied up in his salary.
