Good win...if we never play a 3rd like that again it will be too soon...better teams will kill us if we do that

The 3rd was brutal, nothing else to say there. Disappointing.

Never thought I’d say this but I’ll take kerfoot over kadri any day

Easy not to take the guy who you can't count on being allowed to play.

Its pretty safe to say that Freddie is gone after this season.

Freddie who?

Looks like Marner is playing scared. The little self preservation stop ups, the puck watching, the poke checks. He made a few brilliant defensive poke checks and stuffed Weber and assisted on that GWG. And had a couple of high energy PK’s. So it’s not all lost at all. But in a very hard fought environment he’s definitely hesitant to get in the fray and I think it hurts his effectiveness.
That used to be Willy, but damn has that guy ever amped up his game. Effing playing with no fear and on a mission.

Positives: Great game by Campbell and Kerfoot. Respect to Holl for practically blocking that shot face first. Decent game by Rielly. Brodie and Muzzin solid. Great first two periods.

Negatives: Terrible game by Spezza and Thornton. Thornton should not play tomorrow (Brooks should come in). Thornton on the PP is laughable. Nash is equivalent to Gauthier. Galchenyuk with his worst game as a Leaf. Can't sit back like we did in the third being outshot 14-2. Need more from the Matthews line. All the lines to me are a mess.

We have few options. We need to look into getting some fresh legs in. Especially back to back

Robertsson and Brooks over Nash and Joe. You don't have to play them alot
I like Brooks, he can play wings and center

Joe wasn't even resting during back-to-backs in the regular season, he is playing tomorrow. I hope I am wrong.

Jack Campbell finds a way to win games, such a great competitor

Said it before and I'll say it again. Best thing about Campbell is that he's mostly a calm, steady presence in net compared to the chao that is Andersen. He makes most saves look routine and sometimes can come up with a good one as well, but its just nice to see a goalie in the Leafs net that doesn't look out of control and all over the place when trying to make a save like we see all too often with Andersen.

All Campbell needs to be mindful of is to be abit more careful when he's out of the crease trying to play the puck around the net and that's about it.

Embarrassing third period... took a lot of the excitement out of the win to be honest, really not a win we deserved.

That said, big props to Campbell on big night, and credit to the boys for a great first 40 with tough injuries to fight through... Let's get our heads out of our asses and get it together for tomorrow

Well the fact he actually plays in the PO's sure helps his cause.

*He's been really solid.

Never criticize a playoff road win!

I'd be careful making too many changes to the lineup in the playoffs after a win.

This is what I don't understand about the Leafs. We dominated in the 2nd and got absolutely dominated in the 3rd. What changed during/after the intermission? In past years, we would have lost by a couple goals with that lame 3rd effort.
Though we hanged in, we gave Habs the illusion that they might have a chance on us. If they play like the 3rd tomorrow night, we might as well mail the game in.

what's with going into a defense shell with the one goal lead? that's something you do if you are evenly matched but we're the better team. trade chances and we win most of the time as evidenced by our dominance in the first 2 periods.

Good players are hard to touch. I thought overall we played quite physical. But yea can’t hurt to give him a proper welcome to the playoffs next game.

He’s not even close to that good, it’s not like he’s slipping checks and being elusive. We literally played the puck instead of the body, not a very good game by the Leafs.. but still good enough.
