The thing is, I dont really fault him. Most of management was building a pretty good team until the last few years when we decided not to get a proper goalie or defence ever.

The problem is a HUUUUUUUUUUGE chunk of our cap is tied up in one player, who isn't doing a single thing, and has been a black hole on the team for years now.

Him and Spezza have been two of our best forwards this year… sad.

Last I checked, he has the highest expected goals for per 60 minutes of play on the team. At the bare minimum, he and his line's getting the puck to the net.

I think that's an overstatement. I've seen lots of goalies cover up defensive lapses. That's their job to do it regularly.
