I only see Beauvillier and Grzelyck for like 4th rounders. I think teams are a bit hesitant about Rakell. So maybe that's an off-season move.

And I'd be fine with 4th rounders for either of those two wankers, retaining on Hayes to get a higher pick would be ideal too and also dumping Glass and others as well for 3rd rounders or more 4ths. The only other player I want gone asap for just being the biggest glazing piece of shit on this roster is Bryan "Tongue deep in Sullys cheeks" Rust. The problem with firing Sullivan is then maybe the Penguins become better and cost themselves McKenna or Dupont.

For my money keep Sully until those two drafts are done and then kick his ass to the curb. And hopefully the Pens win the lottery in one or both of them. And if they don't whatever they at least got a couple high picks most likely which they need anyways whether those are first overalls or not.

It will be a miserable two years but it was also a miserable few years before Sid and Malkin were drafted. I can deal with it.

I still think the dream scenario with Rakell is Rakell plus the Rangers 1st for Clarke and Moore, with adjusting with lesser assets to make it an even swap. I really don’t understand what LA is doing with Clarke or if they’re just a lot more sour on him than LA fans are.

Clarke would immediately become their top young player and he and whoever the Penguins would draft with their 1st this year would start the new “core”, with McGroarty and Brunicke potentially joining that as well. Recover at least some of the picks you trade in that deal with moving Karlsson in the offseason.

I’ll never understand the obsession with Yager. He’s a meh mid rounder from a weak draft.

He seems like he's a likable player who you'd want to root for. Plus, he's a center, which we need more of.

I wouldn't, I don't see the obsession with Trever Moore. He is turning 30 at the end of the month, don't really fit what we are looking for going forward IMO. I'd rather keep that rags pick.

Moore is only included for cap reasons and Clarke is more valuable than Rakell.

IMO I think that deal breaks down into Rakell for Moore and a 1st and 2 1sts for Clarke. I think that value is reasonable based on the Jiricek trade, although Clarke has had a bit more success in the NHL than Jiricek.

I’d definitely be willing to add some non major pieces to close that deal, though. Obviously no Brunicke, McGroarty or Koivunen but I’d be willing to add another piece or two to get that deal done. Clarke is a future #1D that would immediately become their top young player.

I think the max I’d do is Rakell, Pickering and the Rangers 1st for Moore and Clarke. I feel uneasy doing that so I think that’s about the max I’d go.

1- there's no obsession with Moore. It's mostly taking cap back. However, Moore's career gpg, apg and ppg aren't that far off from Rakell's. (.29-.35-.64 vs. .22- .29- .51) And he averages almost 2 minutes less ice time per game. (17:17 vs. 15:39)
He can maybe get some time with Sid and improve his numbers. If not, either way he can be flipped down the line.

2- you're not getting Clarke+ for Rakell.
Next to C, RH D might be the most valuable. One that just turned 22 and is 6' 2"? About 20 teams can beat an offer of Rakell.

I wouldn't be surprised if Clarke was actually available, but I do think the Penguins would get outbid for him. I think that Rakell and a 1st for Moore and Clarke proposal is a fair base for a deal, but someone like Buffalo would offer a better individual piece without the quantity. If their options were that or Peterka for Clarke straight up, I think they'd go for Peterka. The Penguins could make a fair offer for Clarke, but it would be more quantity focused and I think the Kings could do a more quality focused trade.

Either way, Rakell for Moore and a 1st looks good enough for me. If the Penguins could somehow draft Mrtka with one of their 1sts this year, I think they'll be set on RD going forward anyway.
