How are you so sure of that? I am not sold on the Toronto goaltending. Yes Samsonov looked good tonight but I wouldn't bet on him over Vasilevsky in the playoffs.
Tampa has been the final three years in a row, they are bound to run out of gas.

It isn't a given of course but I'm expecting Toronto to win. I'll be elated if they lose in the first round so I hope I'm wrong.

Probably a pipe dream but I hope Ryan Reynolds or whoever puts a stop to this “premium ticket” bullshit for Leafs and Habs games. Stop giving Ottawa fans such big incentives to sell their tickets, and we’ll stop seeing so many Leafs and Habs jerseys in the CTC.
It is just supply and demand. Demand for games involving the Scabs and Laughs is much higher than normal.

Holden was by far our worst defenceman tonight in a lineup with three rookies. It's been obvious for months that he can't play at this level, and yet they keep putting him in the lineup.

How much better would this team have been if they simply didn't play the veterans that we know can't keep up?

I missed the game. How and why did Sens lose 3-0?

Nick Holden with some poorly timed turnovers that ended up being high danger chances and Sogaard wasn't ideal.

Pretty defensive minded contest otherwise. Rookies looked pretty good and any mistakes they made were compensated for with strong recovery.

Sens also managed to guard an empty net for a full 4 minutes which was pretty unexpected.

because Chabot wasn't playing

Hate losing to the leafs but I have to hand it to them that was a classic business trip. Not much emotion, just a mission accomplished.

Perhaps Grieg is still a bit raw but I haven't seen much of him yet that excites me.

Hopefully it's just him adapting to a men's league and he comes in bigger and stronger next season. I believe he only weight 180?

I think he’s both quite a bit smaller than 180 and still nursing an injury.

It’s hard to play that style at his size. Peca and Pageau played that role around 180-185. Gaining that strength will be crucial for Greig.

Samsonov made a lot of nice saves tonight. Samsonov made two great saves, one on Sanderson that almost went in under his right pad. And the other was a save on Brady where he shot one quickly and Samsonov squeezed it under his pad.

LOL

This team has been successful. We are chock full of injuries and Dorion has made excellent acquisitions… BFD, he didn’t do well on Talbot trade… but it looked good when he made the trade… talbot flubbed
My dog could have made those transactions given the circumstances.

Cat = insane mentally unstable GM give him top 10 pick
G = be mid 30s guy from Ottawa with hot Stittsville wife who wants to raise their kids in Ottawa
Chyrchrun = wasting his life playing hockey in the Algonquin college intramural arena while his grandpa ages

They’re all layups that can barely be considered as demonstrated competence. I equate them to feeding the ducks wonderbread and pulling sunfish out of the water at Watson’s Mill in Manotick

Vancouver is 6-2-2 in their last 10.
They weren’t 6-2-2 in November when everyone but the sens were beating them. My point being that we pissed away some very winnable games

Young team people.

Yes they crumble under pressure but what do you expect from a bunch of 20-24 year olds? Next year with better coaching and goaltending they should be able to make a strong push for the playoffs.
Definitely agree with the highlighted part….that’s the one common thing to note.

In the end, it never should have come down to running the table with 8-9 games left

Helps when they’re playing a limping D core, a team riddle with injuries.

Nobody was saying this about Marner, Matthews and Reilly when they were leading their team to the playoffs at young ages

Coaching doesn’t make a difference - the only cure for this team is other teams falling out of their window and an endless amount of time until they figure it out with DJ Smith

I always get a kick out of reading these GDTs the morning after a loss.

If you're from the Ottawa area, well, there's a pretty simple solution to the Leafs fans in the stands issue: buy a pair of tickets yourself, put on the jersey and go to the game. And if you're not prepared to do that, then STFU.

Add Josh Norris to the lineup and get a goalie and the Sens will make the playoffs next year. This year way too many key injuries throughout the year. Stick with DJ and Pierre. If we had Norris and Formenton on the team this year that would add 40 to 50 goals to our 241 goals for and that would add up to a lot more wins this season. We would have around 290 goals for which would put us up close to the league lead in goals for. We would be in a playoff spot for sure.

all NHL teams use dynamic pricing…. Why wouldn’t they? They’re in business to make money, not to accommodate the whims and wishes of whiny fans who don’t like this or that about the team.

All those Leafs fans live in Ottawa big bro

They need to disable resale on Leafs and habs games for season seats and gio lock those games to Ottawa. It will mean less money for the sens but less of a national embarrassment

Or get more Sens fans in there…

Well those are methods that would turn seats from blue to red. If a season seat holder can’t resell it they are more likely to show up then leave the seat empty.

If it is gio locked people in between GTA and Ottawa won’t be able to buy them leading to only ottawa residents makes it more likely it will be a red seat
