I think he makes it but it's because I also think he's going to get better , then again if team canada goes grit in the bottom 6 he won't make it
He was terrible in the WC. He started out in the top 6 and was eventually demoted to the 4th line because he was such a liability. He piled up almost all of his points against weak opponents. He's going to end the season with about 70 points. But if he tears up the Worlds that will help a lot. He did alright last year, 8 points in 10 games for an 18 year old. He needs to at least do well this year and maybe help Canada get further than getting bounced out in the semis.

crosby was better his rookie season than bedard is now and still didn't make team canada's 06 olympic team
Of course, I guess my point was when asked to play a responsible game he showed he was far from "okay", even for an 18 year old. It's not historically been that hard of a tournament for 18 year olds.Right, but he was 18. I'll give him a lifeline for that one. To make Team Canada he does have to come out flying at the Worlds this year and then early next year.
Gain 15-20 pounds of muscle.... Basically the regular boys to men growth spurt. It's not a skill or play issue, it's that he's still physically a boy.
I believe teams will be allowed a 25 man roster thus 14F will get selected. In case someone goes down they will need to slot someone in whom they can trust.I think he makes it but it's because I also think he's going to get better , then again if team canada goes grit in the bottom 6 he won't make it
He needs to be good enough to make the team, and not be bad enough to not make the team.We hear almost every second about how a talented group needs to have a shooter and players need to not defer and look for the perfect play when it comes to Team Canada.
With that being said, Bedard is both known for his release/shot and his excellence with Team Canada. I think if he can put together a good season he might be valuable as a power play specialist.
What would he have to do to cement himself a spot at next years Olympics and is there even anything within the realm of possibilities he can do to make it?
I think if he can put up a 40 goal season next year and light the lamp on the power play often he has a shot. But it’s hard when you have established players like Point who can also shoot the puck that is experienced without the liabilities.
