In some ways, I love these stiff tests. Heading into the play-offs they have to build in a no excuse mentality. Next guy up. Passed with flying colours Saturday. Hoping they can do it again tonight. Let's go Buds.

Looks like a good game to miss due to the injuries and a 10pm worknight start.

Keefe on Engvall:

This is exactly why I told people the way Keefe to relax with their criticisms on Keefe when he wasn't playing Engvall.

Engvall is literally the first player he called up to play in his very first game as coach, and he's loved him on the Marlies.

The difference between Keefe's tough love and Babcock's is that Keefe won't sit you for 70 games then say you suck when you play a game rusty.

Yeah the Keefe doesn't like Engvall didn't make much sense from the beginning.

I was worried that Engvall might have off-ice issues because even in the play-ins he was scratched going into the series, but it turns out Keefe just thinks he can be Lindros.

Expecting this one to be another Monday night debacle, especially with Hutch in net and Matthews still out. Probably a big rebound night from McDavid and Draisaitl.

Already preparing for the insufferable Oilers fans post game.

to be or not to be.... i.e. drink coffee and stay up for the game or watch a period and a half and pass out lol

ennis hitting campbell's head clearly hurt him IMO. what a shit show; i hope campbell wasn't rushed back.

now as it stands:

- Oilers shutout last game will be looking to respond
- Hutch in net
- McDavid and Draisaitl on Hutch all night.....

I hope we can keep up with the defensive effort. Imagine beating oilers for the 2nd game in a row without Matthews and our third stringer goalie - that would be GLORIOUS and ......--------->>>>>> "Hilarious"

Even with Matthews out and Hutch in net, the Leafs still win this game. They are that good and deep.

When you have Tavares, Marner, Nylander, Hyman, Thornton, Reilly, Muzzin, Brodie, Micheyev, etc.... you are not exactly the Ottawa Senators!!!

Plenty of depth and talent to win without the injured. I see the Leafs once again making this a difficult game for Edmonton. Even with McDavid and Draisaitl, that is only 2 players against our many. Just goes to show no one player makes your team. Not even McDavid or Matthews for that matter.

Thats 2 victories against Edmonton and McDavid without Matthews. 2 FOR 2. Going to be 3 FOR 3.

Hate to agree with this but I see it much the same way. If we win it against all these odds I'll be pleasantly surprised

I have eaten so much crow about Thornton on the top line. After the first few games I was calling that he was done in the league. He has been seriously impressive since. His ability to dictate play behind the goal line has been simply amazing to watch.

I wasn't being quite as harsh maybe, but I didn't think Thornton should or would last on the top line, and I thought he'd be in and out of the lineup at the bottom. But yeah, he's been very impressive, despite how slow he is at times, a great complimentary skilled player at this point with grit, tenacity, excellent on the boards, and still an elite passer.

Why you all making it out to be doom and gloom.

You do understand that even without Matthews and Hutch in net we are the better team tonight. Heck without Matthews and Hutch in net we are better than 2/3 of the league.

You guys really need to give them more credit. Tavares, Marner, Nylander are not chopped liver!!! And our secondary players are way better than the Oilers.

All the pressure is on the Oilers, and man they know it.

I have some Oilers buddies that are keeping quiet about this game, they know they're going to get it from everyone if they lose this one lol.

Makes it more fun to watch in all honesty.
