Makes zero sense for the Leafs to not try to upgrade in goal. Both games agains the Canucks this season have illustrated the point quite nicely.

The Oilers should just ride Koskinen and have Skinner spell him if he needs rest. Fire Smith into the sun, he's just awful this year. From watching the games it looks like he's determined to play and hiding an injury of sorts.

Shocking that two teams who can’t evaluate goalies are once again proving they don’t know how to evaluate goalies

Shocking

Ok, I came here to make a snarky comment, but I can't beat what's here.

Toronto should reconsider, Edmonton should too, but. you know, after my guys move into a playoff spot.

Holland and Dubas agreeing on a 1st round exit.
I laughed. Just throwing away the primes of elite talents. I guess the only thing I could say with Dubas is that he's covered his bases. Over the years he's brought in goaltending, dmen, tougher forwards etc. People here RIP on him but I don't know what else he's supposed to do. The players are 2nd in terms of accountability.

Dubas has done a great job. The big 4 contracts were a miss, I didn't like the Foligno trade last season and I felt Marner should've been moved in the off season but other than those 3 instances I truely believe the team is slowly transforming into a winner.

Holland has done very little and what he has done has actually made the team worse per $ spent. The Oilers tandem is the longest running tandem in the NHL and arguably it's worst.

If Fleury is not moving, then Leafs and Oilers really can't even look for a replacement. Who is there available? Varlamov maybe? Ducks won't trade Gibson.

Title should be: “Leafs and Oilers content to make yet another first round exit”.

Koskinen is just as bad as Smith. Neither of them are good enough to play on a good AHL team, let alone the NHL.

Why bother coming out and saying this? More of a vote of confidence to help their current goalies or a way to try to minimize their desperation that they really do need a goalie amd know teams will take advantage of their desperation?
Just seems a little odd as they would look even worse if they said they aren’t looking and end up getting one. Woild kind of be a slap in the face to their current goalies but ?

I don't think anyone is claiming that Koskinen is a great goalie, but he is miles better than Mike Smith this year, and I'm sure he would do just fine in the AHL.

For the Leafs I understand it more, cause they would have to move Mrazek which might be hard, but if the Oilers don't make a move, they deserve their either sure first round exit or playoff miss altogether.
