It reminds me of what JT Miller said months ago when asked about his drop in production, he replied by stating it means I am playing great defence.
JB knows he overpaid big time, heck, I would even say that the package was good enough for Kane.

yup they all get asked but how many come out and say crap like

''yeah we gave out a bunch of picks including two 1sts but they don't matter because i kept Hirvonen/Niemela etc."

or

''we had a Minton who was rated in the 3rd rd in the top 15 '' to subtle try to act like trading down to fix a self created mistake was no biggie because we got the guy we would have taken anyway

and i don't hate the guy per se but we all have our pet peeves and one of mine is that self promoting bs'es like Dubas drive me nuts

also, why is he a piece of shit? because you dont agree with what hes doing? man u need to step off the ledge, its a f***ing game you watch on tv for entertainment then resume your regular life, although going off this post, you might not have much of a life.

Fair enough - like I said everyone has their opinion and reasons. I mean every GM/coach's media quotes can get old after multiple years. Particularly when there isn't progress and there's just failure.

I've just stopped paying attention to pressers and those sorts of things over the last 3-4 years. It's become evident to me that there is a lot of posturing and cliches that are used (by all GM's). I rather just feed off of the moves that are actually made/not made and judge from there.

yup it's just a game and i'm not some crazy south american soccer fan who's going to go out and shoot a player for an own goal but when your closing in on 60 and the team you've followed since a kid gets lucky enough to acquire 3 kids as talented as the one's we did you get just a wee bit annoyed continuing to read how they and all the other players keep letting down our genius GM

like when did the GM of the team become the main attraction , especially that has accomplished nothing so far

and one day a couple of decades from now if this cup drought continues you'll be thinking how the hell did the team piss away the opportunity that was in front of us when we drafted the 3 kids

I've been hard on Dubas but sometimes you just gotta tip your hat. He's had a spectacular TDL. I love these moves. Filling holes with players that improve the team in multiple areas and making us tough to play against like some of my favorite Leaf teams of old.

I haven't been this excited at the TDL since we picked up Nolan in 03 and Leetch and Francis in 04.

like every single GM in every single sport does press at the trade deadline, theres legit nothing wrong with what hes done or said lol.

1 team a year wins the cup and 15 other spend assets to try and win the cup, all you can do is try and win and hope the chips fall correctly.
as for the last paragraph, if ANYTHING, the 3 kids themselves having been pissing away the opportunity they have had. a team with our talent should have never lost to the habs or the blue jackets and the other 3 attempts vs teams they were in a good position to win they could never come through in the big moment, thats on the players, not dubas.

They cleared the cupboards this year for this core to make a serious run. They're giving a lot of reasons to be optimistic, wonder how they're gonna f*** it up this time.
