Absolutely. I think they redeemed her some in S2 because, if you zoom out a little bit, you kinda have to concede that she's consistently the only one accomplishing anything. The main guy is a dope, and his handler is used more to define who trusts who at any given moment. The girl succeeds at most of the tasks she has, makes a lot of the insights, and on and on.
She had way more agency in S2, but yeah, she was still saying dipshit things like, "You CIA guys need to tell me, the unqualified civilian, EVERYTHING I want to know, right now!" Or, "I know we're literally trying to save the world from horrifying, painful death, but did we really have to be mean to that person?!? I know we're in a time crunch, but that wasn't nice!"
I definitely prefer The Recruit to The Night Agent, though TNA seems to get way more viewers. People are weird.
The Diplomat is really good, IMO, if you all haven't checked it out yet.
