It really puts things in perspective when the Leaf fan base lose their mind on our GM, when every single player he waives gets claimed by a team.

If an injured Brooks gets claimed, a healthy Dzingel will too. Not surprised and good for him. He’s an NHL player so I’m sure he’s happy to play in San Jose than the Marlies.

According to Cap Friendly we now have 2.6 million in deadline cap space now. Could virtually take any rental @50% now.

In my opinion if he was going to be the 13th forward then this is the best outcome possible for the Leafs.

Trade Ritchie and receive a hard hitting, shot blocking right shot bear on defense AND add cap space? Quite a positive outcome a month away from the trade deadline.

I just hope I never have to see Clifford playing ever again, he’s absolutely terrible in every sense of the word.

I would guess our "1st line" of callups at the moment would be Robertson-Seney-Anderson.

Will go down with the likes of Olaf Kolzig, Jared McCann as one of the great paper Leafs of all time.

BTW, can this bottom feeder league resist taking Leafs junk or what? I've never seen such a waiver claim happy approach towards any team as vs the Leafs.

I'd consider it a compliment (the Leafs being a good team). I don't know if the Leafs are any more susceptible to waiver claims in comparison to other teams of similar quality. I'm not really sure that it even matters as a team's foundation isn't especially likely to be built via that method all that much anyway.

Watch SJ turnaround and deal him for a draft pick at the deadline.

Power to them if that comes to fruition. I can see the argument for the Leafs choosing to retain their defensive depth instead.
